While long wait times persisted the VA added 39,454 new positions to their payroll between 2012-2015. Fewer than ten percent of these new positions (3,591) were ‘Medical Officers,’ i.e. doctors.

10% sounds about right to me after you account for med techs, nurses, administration, facilities, NPs, PAs...

Aside from the few and far between Veterans who profess to receive good care at a VA, most Veterans are shuffled around, put on excessive wait lists, have their records “lost”, sneered-down-upon by staff and generally dismissed as lesser people. Close the VA and give the Veterans a health plan that they can take anywhere. The VA is a LIB make-work plan. However, they do have nice grounds and nice furniture in their managers’ offices. Also, the employees have excellent benefits and retirement plans.

But, but you don’t understand! All the VA is is a “jobs program” for Blacks and other minorities. Today the VA has nothing to do with health care for veterans, it’s simoly a “vehicle” to give money to the gibbsmedats, plus a gold-plated, unearned retirement. It’s the same for the Post Office. When is the last time you saw a white person delivering the mail? And the biggest problem with all of it is that now Government “Employees” have become a voting bloc that is formidable.

So true. And most are from pathetic black colleges that teach nothing but hatin’ whitey and diversity. Many are pretty much illiterate when they graduate.
And so many go into education because they know they’ve got a sure job when they get out. I saw on the news while I was on a business trip in Montgomery, Alabama and that the school system guarantees a job to anyone graduating from the black college there. Some of these black schools are little more than degree mills.
How many were nurses, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, or other people who could actually help patients?

Which is the first issue with, “college degree required.” Black and Womyn’s studies aren’t degree programs. They are resume builders so people who are idiots can get interviews.

Which means the concession area will be filled with workers who officially start at 9:00AM but don’t leave the concession till 1:00 PM.
I shamed a “worker” (more like a drone) into leaving the concession area and going to his office because of this! He said he didn’t open till 1:00 PM and I said in a very loud voice “THE SIGN ON YOUR DOOR SAYS YOU OPEN AT 9:00! AND THERE ARE PEOPLE BACKED UP NOW WAITING NOW FOR YOU!”
The VA needs more clerical to keep up with the every growing list of appointments six months down the road.
The bureaucrats at the VA are organized crime.
I read that VA doctors see only about 6 patients a day during office hours compared to about 25 a day for those in private practice.

I have received excellent care on several occasions at the
VA hospital in Cheyennne. No complaint.
Then you are the exception.
