GOP nominee Donald Trump is experiencing an eye-popping surge in support among black Americans in Florida the biggest prize of all the battleground states according to a new poll.
Trump has attracted the backing of a full 20 percent of black Americans in Florida, a poll by Florida Atlantic University and the Economics Polling Initiative found.
The survey, conducted Aug. 19-22 and released Wednesday, shows Democrat Hillary Clinton winning the support of 68 percent of Floridas black voters.
Trump took an overall lead in the state, 43 to 41 percent, within the polls 2.7 percent margin of error.
While Clinton takes the largest share of African-American voters, Trumps numbers are noteworthy because Republican candidates have failed to capture more than 13 percent of the black vote in the state in at least 24 years:
In 1992, President George H.W. Bush received just 10 percent of the black vote in Florida.
In 1996, Sen. Bob Dole won only 9 percent of the black vote in Florida.
In 2004, President George W. Bush captured just 13 percent of the black vote in Florida.
In 2008, Sen. John McCain secured just 4 percent of the black vote in the state.
In 2012, Gov. Mitt Romney won 4 percent of the black vote.
President Obama barely won the Sunshine State in 2012 by just more than .9 percent. The state has 4.4 million registered Republicans, 4.6 million Democrats and 3 million independents.

The phrase Black Americans sounds a whole lot better then African Americans.
What is the opinion here?
The choice for Everett is good as it would be on the more conservative side of Seattle, then say Tacoma. A well attended rally with a positive outcome will send a strong message to others in Western Washington.
Eastern Washington is probably already Trump country.
I prefer just Americans.
Bingo.
Yep - We are all just Folks
Game over
THe MSM outlets post a lot more lies than WND posts “tinfoil”. Not sure exactly what you mean by “tinfoil” as I don’t read WND enough to have seen any.
Do you post on threads with NYT/WaPo/Huffpo/CNBC/CBS/CNN etc articles slamming those sources too?
And, yes, I have posted comments on sites like NYT/WaPo/Huffpo/CNBC/CBS/CNN etc when they allow posting of comments.
I also noticed they turn the comment option off when they aren't getting what they want.
Do you want us to do that too?
“Florida is no longer a southern state.”
-
Florida moved? Where is it now?
.
I meant do you post such comments on threads on FR when the article posted is from MSM sites, which have much more lies and propaganda on them, than WND has tinfoil. Or do you only protest on FR when WND articles are posted.
Why do you suggest that I want comments turned off? Did I state or imply that?
Florida is the key
South Jersey.
This is the news that I already knew had happened yesterday when Hillary was making her “Everyone’s A Klansman” speech.
She needs to learn what bigot actually means. Trump really is the better one for blacks and all working folks as he understands the factors of production. He has an econ degree not a law degree. All who want a job or value theirs should prefer Trump plus his vast business experience over any legal type.
“They publish a lot of good stuff and too much tinfoil hat stuff which discredits it.”
I’ve seen Freepers charge WND with posting tin foil hat stuff, but they’re never specific as to what content they judge to be on the weird side.
Maybe you could cite an article you found to be worthy of the label, ‘tin foil’.
“But I had friends who had no clue...”
And there it is. More than half of America is clueless. Blacks are clueless. Women have become clueless. Our youths are pubic educated to be clueless.
It’s feelings, baby, nothing more than feelings. Angry chips on blacks’ shoulders, guilt abatement by white soccer moms, excitement of youths doing something ‘new’ for ‘hope’.
This same woman who didn’t know Obama’s middle name until he started his second term could tell you, and did, the name of every contestant on “Dancing With The Stars”, who they danced with, and every winner.
I have no use for these people; they’re the problem.
They are our family members, neighbors, coworkers, church brethren.
Pubic school teachers, TV, Democrats, unions, and churches have so thoroughly affected their beliefs and awareness of truth, reality and reason, it’s hard to actually grasp — we are surrounded by ignoramuses.
