Kirsten Powers, a regular on Fox News for the past decade, is switching channels.
Powers is joining CNN as a political analyst, effective immediately, CNN announced Monday morning. She will continue to write columns for USA Today. Her first appearance will be on "Anderson Cooper 360" Monday night.
Powers is the fourth Fox personality hired by CNN in the past 18 months, joining co-host Alisyn Camerota, liberal commentator Bob Beckel and conservative commentator Mary Katharine Ham.
The timing of her move is newsworthy because it comes one month after the founding CEO of Fox News, Roger Ailes, resigned under pressure amid a sexual harassment scandal. There has been press speculation about a potential "talent exodus" from Fox in the wake of Ailes' resignation. Some of Fox's biggest stars have clauses in their contracts that allow them to leave because Ailes left.
Powers brings an unpredictable set of views to television news discussions. Last year The Washington Post described her as "an antiabortion, antiwar evangelical liberal who works for Fox News."
She is also the author of "The Silencing: How the Left is Killing Free Speech."

Powers always gave the Democrat side of the news, so she should fit right in at the Clinton News Network.
As a relatively moderate liberal, she’ll be the token conservative at CNN.
Yep. I didn’t know that either.
Watched part of a “$100,000 Pyramid” show last night that included the detestable Joy Behar as one of the celebrity contestants. She first announced she had officiated at a gay wedding, and said it with in-your-face arrogance. She later ended up with her partner trying to win a $50,000 dollar prize, but couldn’t come up with “Why you pray” as one of the items. The contestant giving her the clues said several things that would have triggered the correct response in a normal person, but being the godless wretch that she is, Miss Behar was befuddled and squandered almost half the time. Ugly performance.
Toxic Meghan Kelley is going to destroy Fox
I will miss her just as much as I missed her while she was on Foxy ScHnews.
never could figure her out. Prolife and prodemocrat how can that be. I don’t see how you can claim to be a Christian and support the antigod party!
Recall that MKH’s late, Darwin award winning husband was an uber leftist. Don’t know what it is about supposedly conservative women hooking up with libtard men — Mary Matalin, Ann Coulter, MKH...
Po-tay-to, po-tah-to. Seriously...who cares?
Good riddance to a leftwing nutjob.
They left off Scottie Nell Hughes who was on FNC from 2012 to 2015. And Kayleigh McEnany who was on Red Eye a lot between 2009 and 2012 as well as other Fox news shows. They jumped to CNN around the start of the presidential race.
Also Anna Kooiman is leaving as host of Fox News shows to move to Australia and will shift over to freelancing reporter. And Bo Dietl was not renewed but he was also going on Newsmax TV.
Toxic Meghan Kelley is going to destroy FoxThey don't need her help they've been doing it to themselves for years.
The only one worth his salt and honest to the core is Lou Dobbs.
Hannity is unwatchable because he's such a dufus.
Whoopee.
Interesting Washington Post article about her.
She did come from the Clinton administration and was a die hard anti-Conservative individual. Well worth the read.
I wish Juan the Whiner Williams would have gone instead.
you’d rather watch that oafish lout Bob Beckel on ‘The Five’...?
A perfect fit for this cafeteria Catholic that calls herself pro life but continues to support the most pro-abortion party in the history of mankind. I despises her. Just a fake and fraud that gives the Catholic Church a bad name.
Or sign on with MSNBC?
But then, that only means they have two viewers.
Maybe she gets insurance at CNN
being an independent contractor she gets no insurance and she is getting old
