Paul Manafort, Donald Trumps campaign chairman, resigned from the campaign on Friday, according to Fox News.
This morning Paul Manafort offered, and I accepted, his resignation from the campaign. I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today, and in particular his work guiding us through the delegate and convention process. Paul is a true professional and I wish him the greatest success, Trump stated in a press release on Friday.

Honey Badger don't give a $h1#!!!
My take on the issue: Trump identified that the his primary problem is the lying media. Manafort had no solution to this problem so he brought in media busting exports to run the show. Like any good CEO when someone can’t get the job done, they find someone who can.
Manafort did a great job securing the election and beating the nevertrumpers. The man has my respect.
I loved the job Manafort did, but I really like the way Trump brings in the right pinch hitter at the right time.
Trump is not wasteful...does not need 700 lurkers sending each other emails. Get em in, get the job done, get em out, bring in the next one.
Sigh....I hope we will get to see Trump run the govt. He has certainly cut the waste out of a Presidential campaign!
Not this time. :)

I agree. I don’t think Manafort did a great job. He might have soothe some insiders, but he wasn’t a very good spokesman for Trump. He made a lot of mistakes.
I think he was behind Trump’s last minute endorsement of Ryan, promising that Ryan would come through for Trump, which didn’t happen.
The campaign seems more stable now. It was a great week for Trump. I don’t know if this is because of KellyAnne, but Trump seems to be on an even keel now.
I was afraid when KellyAnne first came on board because she was a Cruz employee, but she’s been great for Trump’s campaign and doesn’t have as big an ego as Manafort.
Lee Atwater was a Donald Trump like character of his day. A bold and happy warrior.
The democrats hated him because they could not out maneuver or debate him in any fair manner. I haven’t thought about him in many years.
Trump should doacommercial on how economical hews duringtheprimary season and thatiswhyheneedstobe elected. This is exactly howhewill help cut the 19TRILLION debt that our wasteful gov’t employees and congress whores spent with our hard earned Tandoori! He needs to hammer this out before the American people....l
I read every response on this thread and no one approaches the timeline aspect of this resignation.
Media: Manafort gets “demoted” as new consultants are brought in.
Note that the org-chart of Conway/Bannon/Manafort was not revealed (AKA: Who reports to whom), just Titles.
Cletus’s Speculation:
The media is already humming with some sort of “foreign consulting” gig involving Russia. After the campaign settles in, Manafort starts getting feelers and requests for the up-coming Sunday media circus. The media-idiots will tell him they want to ask about the “reorg” and what his “new” role will be. But...Manafort and Trump both know they will bring up the Ukraine on a pivot.
After talking to the boss, Manafort resigns and lets the boss know that he won’t be on any of the Sunday shows this weekend.

Manafort did what he was good at (and supposed to do) — get the delegates for the convention!
