John McLaughlin, the host of TVs The McLaughlin Group since its debut in January 1982, died on Tuesday at age 89. The political commentators passing comes just days after he missed his first hosting of his eponymous syndicated public affairs program in more than 34 years. I am under the weather, McLaughlin explained in a note that prefaced this past weekends telecast. His distinct, once-bellowing voice, heard in pre-taped intros, was weaker than usual, McLaughlin acknowledged. Yet my spirit is strong and my dedication to the show remains absolute!

Indeed.
RIP
RIP
RIP John!!
Spoiler Alert: Everybody is WRONG!
“Bye Bye !”
Just kidding, John.
Loved your show.
RIP.
Yeah... hanging curveball.
The Sinatra Group
RIP. I always liked him. I stopped watching because after years I had my fill of Eleanor Clift and couldn’t bear her smirking face anymore or her spittle filled rants.
They also did spoof The McLaughlin Group with Dana Carvey playing McLaughlin.
He started out pretty liberal (and a priest), moved right in the Nixon-Reagan years (and got married twice), and then got really disillusioned with GW Bush. Plenty of people did.
You beat me to it.
He cannot come back to you but you can go to him.
RIP
Have seen him on TV recently and he was not looking well at all. RIP.
I saw an episode recently where the entire panel except Buchanan was actually DEFENDING the Maduro regime in Venezuela. About made my head explode!
Man, back in the 80’s I used to watch his show EVERY Sunday!
Then eventually I moved to a place where I didn’t have cable and it faded away.
RIP to one of the most intellectual conservatives I ever knew!
Sorry to hear this. I enjoyed the program and liked his way of moving things along on the show. Very well done...
RIP Mr. John McLaughlin...
I don’t recall that one.
Don’t know how it could beat “The Sinatra Group” with Phil Hartman, Sting as Bill Idol, Chris Rock as Luther Campbell and Mike Myers/??? as Steve/Edie.

But, there's nothing WRONG with The McLaughlin Group. I miss Ja-Jocko-Jimmy-jack-jack Germond.
Issue one.
Turns out he hadn't heard about it yet. I filled him in on the details from the reports I'd seen on TV. He was stunned. I felt very cool knowing about it before he did.
Anyway, we boarded, he going to first class and me going to coach.
Upon landing, I saw him in the baggage area being greeted by a limo driver and a lady that I presumed to be a staffer.
I had forgotten about that incident until just now.
May he RIP.
