Multiple FBI investigations are underway involving potential corruption charges against the Clinton Foundation, according to a former senior law enforcement official.
The investigation centers on New York City, where the Clinton Foundation has its main offices, according to the former official who has direct knowledge of the activities.
Prosecutorial support will come from various U.S. Attorneys Offices — a major departure from other centralized FBI investigations.

How would it look if Obama pardoned the Clintons if there was no “active investigation?” It would give the [correct] impression he was fully aware of illegalities, used the DOJ to shield them [and him], and was granting a pardon to protect himself.
An “active investigation” gives him cover for a pardon, using what will prove to be the most destructive, nastiest election cycle ever, regardless of outcome. Time to move on, put it behind us, blah, blah , blah.
Also an investigation with no finding of fault will whitewash/provide ammunition for the media if Trump is elected and investigate happenings under his appointed Attorney General.

Exactly. There will be no investigation whatsoever. In late October the DOJ will issue a finding that Hillary did nothing wrong. Game over. Obama and everyone involved should be charged. Problem is the Republicans are in charge and are also involved. Nothing can be done unless Trump wins. RINOs are going full bore against Trump for this reason. “Not being Presidential” and “not conservative” are Dog Whistles and Distractions.
In my opinion, this is just the tip of the iceberg and it’s going to have an stunning outcome.
Within just weeks before the election, criminal charges WILL be brought against her and controlling members the Clinton Foundation for fraud and money laundering.
But the purpose will not be for just ‘justice’ alone, it will to create panic and a crisis within the democrat party, leaving them without a viable candidate.
