We had the “drys” for the past month. Some rain but not a whole lot, and the grass was getting brown. But the weather folks say we’ll get around 3 inches of rain this weekend, mostly Saturday. Looks like no “yardening” this weekend! But I have enough work to do in my office.
Tomorrow I get to meet this year’s “We The People” class at the local high school. I’m excited about starting a new year as unit advisor. We won state last year and finished 6th nationally. Four of the kids went on our mission trip to Minnesota last month, so I already know some of them.
Mmmmmm, the caramel sounds yummy but we don’t have any. :-(
Not overly fond of Butterfingers so I’ll take a pass on that.
Guess I don’t have a choice but to double up on the Hershey’s! LOL
For those who love military history:

The Kissing Sailor: The story behind the iconic image celebrating victory over Japan
On August 14, 1945, the news was announced to the world that the Japanese had surrendered and the Second World War was finally over. Celebrations erupted across the globe, with one of the biggest in New York Citys Times Square. Among those celebrating was George Mendonsa, a young sailor who had been in the Pacific for two years aboard USS The Sullivans. The spontaneous celebratory kiss he shared with a nurse has become one of the most iconic images of the twentieth century: V-J Day in Times Square.

Good night and sleep tight, beachy.
Hope you get to see the meteor showers.
I’m off for home.
Oh I could care less about the Tigers. I’m a Cub fan (how bout that Cubs - Mariners series last week?)
If I go on the road for a wedding, there better be some baseball or hockey to make it worth my while. And this was a chance to cross another ballpark off the list.
Howdy, Kathy.
Feeling better today than yesterday? Won’t it be nice if you feel tip top in time for the weekend? :-)
Lucky you, having no clouds tonight!
I just stepped outside to take a peek and there are still a lot of clouds here though a little less than earlier. There’s still a little while before things crank up so maybe we’ll still have a chance to see some meteors.
I don't want to jinx them by saying W**** S*****?
Rats! No meteors for me. Of all nights for it to be cloudy! Geez!
...till they all come home....
Bummer! Is it totally cloudy or is it broken up?
It was broken here earlier but I just stepped out to look again and it’s clear overhead. Maybe your clouds will move out, too, with a little luck. It really doesn’t get going good until around 1 or 2 a.m. so who knows what’ll happen?
So supper was late at your house, too, huh?
We ate late and then I ate a too-large bowl of ice cream. Can barely move now. LOL
I’ll check later. We’re “supposed” to have rain for the next several days, and it was really cloudy when I got home at about 8pm
Hate to go out because sure as God made little green apples, one of the kitties witll follow me back in and I won’t get a decent night’s sleep. LOL!
Mmm...ice cream! Now I’m craving it and it’s too late to go get some. LOL!
Not that I need it. :)
Well bummer it’s supposed to rain that long. They just said tomorrow night will be pretty good too. There’ll still be some showers each night through the 24th but not like tonight.
I hope it stays clear here. They’re calling for around 200 per hour. That will be a GOOD show.
Who eats ice cream because they NEED it? LOL!
