She is too much. Wonder what she looked like without all of that hair and pink junk on her face.

Their sets were elaborate but gauche. But what really struck me was the throne-like gaudiness of the chairs they sat in.

If only they would have taken TBN with them.

Which brings up the question, who's running the show now?

I think one of the sons is running it now.

They built something that spans the globe. If you want to preach and you want it heard beyond your congregation, including if you want to be heard in Iran or Egypt, TBN is who you go talk to.

Whatever you think of them, God told them to build it and they built it. They are gone but it is still in operation, if their kids can just keep it going.

They aren’t the only ones anymore, which is a good thing, but they were first and theirs is the biggest network devoted to the gospel. You may not like the pleas for money that were necessary to build it, but you didn’t have to send if you didn’t want to.

May she rest in peace, that’s about as charitable as I can be regarding the Crouch’s and TBN.

Built off the backs of “little grannies” as she used to refer to them as she begged for their social security checks.

What IS your own personal cross? Think about it. You have
to make the choice every day to pick up that cross.

The wooden cross was for Christ, the means of His own
physical death & the death of any vestige of any personal
ambitions he might have remaining.

What, or who, is YOUR means of DEATH TO SELF?

Son Mathew Crouch is running it. Don’t like the direction he is taking it.

Older son Paul Crouch Jr. was my pick.

His daughter was Treasurer. She made charges that donations were being used for personal use. Paul and Jan wouldn’t hear of it, and banished Paul Jr. and his daughter.

"What IS your own personal cross?"

Of course it's whatever causes you to suffer for maintaining your Christian faith and witness. Paul tells us that if you are a faithful Christian you WILL be persecuted. Not "might be" or "Could be" but "will be".

These types are just carnival barkers, and if you want to lure in the rubes, you had better put on a show!

God surely provides for those who have faith in Him.

However, it should be kept in mind that His definition of prosperity is not necessarily ours.

No, I don’t think they had anything to do with the gospel.

Every penny given in good faith is given to God. Those who would steal from Him will pay a larger price. My dad grew up in Oklahoma during the Depression and the traveling circus revivals were a huge stumbling block for him. He told me one night a few years before he passed that he could never forget those charlatan preachers stealing from the poorest of the poor. It took a long time for him to understand that those frauds already faced judgment.

You may not agree with her, but “crook” is a bit strong.

My mom was there, was a Third Order Carmelite nun later in life. She even told our Cardinal twice a certain Priest was a problem and later that Priest cost the Church 80 million in settlements.
So though I wasn't there, I know mom never thought they were religiously phony.

That she became wealthy does not make her a crook. Are the well-paid heads of companies, universities, and charities crooks?
