Washington (CNN)Donald Trump backed off a false claim Friday morning, admitting he had not seen a video of a $400 million payment being unloaded from a US plane in Iran.
The Republican nominee had claimed at rallies twice this week that such a video existed, saying in Maine on Thursday that it was provided by Iranians "to embarrass our president because we have a president who's incompetent."

These stories are all ridiculous don’t you understand a media tactic when you see it?
When Trump got into the race, I suspected his allegiance to the Clintons as a motivating factor.
Trump proved himself to be dynamic, nimble, and his acceptance speech was coherent and on target.
With all of his recent unforced errors, I’m wondering about that Clinton relationship again.

A video of 400 million may not show the cash unloaded from a plane, or it may show cash unloaded from a Swiss plane. Whatever.
The hostages were released after the Iranians filmed wallets of cash on Iranian soil
While the real story is Obama payed a fortune in ransom money to the terrorist state of Iran. Obama can piss out $400 million dollars to blackmailers. Where did that money come from?
all he said is he has not seen the video, right? I dont get the “backed off” and “a false claim” as journalisticly accurate.
“He hasn’t seen it” is not the same as “It doesn’t exist”, apparently.
It would not have mattered WHO the candidate was, this is what was going to happen.
Our biggest problem is ourselves.
We, who allow the obvious propaganda campaign to thrive with no angry and outraged pushback.
I see no fight back and that is why we will lose. It won’t be Trump that lost. It will be WE who lost it.
The establishment struck back and now he can do no right. The meme is set. First impressions and all that. They just control too much to overcome in this manner. A very bleak day is arising.
The version I heard this morning was that Trump mistook the plane carrying the hostages with the plane carrying the cash.
To the media, that’s a big deal, but Obama paying a ransom to our enemy warrants just a shrug of the shoulders from them.

And not only the Trump campaign, but everyone, all the time. On FB, twitter, comment pages on blogs, newspapers, etc. Call the cable TV stations - make them worried. One call each from the people who attend Trump’s rallies would be enough to make them really worried.
Of course, the video is not the issue any more than it was in Benghazi. There is no doubt the Obama administration paid a ransom to Iran to get back four hostages. You would have to be a fool to believe otherwise.
