Allen was forced to resign after “having essentially having phone sex via more than 30,000 emails with an attractive Tampa, Florida, married socialite.”

30,000 emails! That’s almost Crooked Hillary territory.

Almost.

Allen was allowed to retire relatively unscathed, for a favor to be returned later.

Now we know what the favor is.

He is a disgrace to the Marine Corps.

Googling "...attractive Tampa, Florida, married socialite...", look who comes up. Is this the same one Petraeus was involved with? Yes it is.

The ‘sellout’ ...

http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/19/politics/john-allen-retiring/

February 19, 2013

Gen. John Allen, the former leader of coalition forces in Afghanistan who was nominated to become supreme allied commander of NATO, is retiring instead of continuing to pursue the post, President Barack Obama announced Tuesday.

Allen informed Obama that he will leave the service rather than move forward with the nomination, which requires Senate confirmation, a White House statement said.

“I met with General John Allen and accepted his request to retire from the military so that he can address health issues within his family,” Obama said.
In a statement later Tuesday, Allen said his reasons for retiring were personal.

“While I won’t go into the details, my primary concern is for the health of my wife, who has sacrificed so much for so long. For more than 35 years, my beloved Kathy has devotedly stood beside me and enabled me to serve my country.

“It is profoundly sobering to consider how much of that time I have spent away from her and our two precious daughters. It is now my turn to stand beside them, to be there for them when they need me most,” he said.

THE REAL REASON GEN. ALLEN RESIGNED

BUT INVESTIGATION OF HIS THOUSANDS OF
E-MAILS TO AND FROM GENERAL'S GROUPIE
JILL KELLEY SEALED HIS FATE - DESPITE BEING
"TOTALLY CLEARED" BY PENTAGON INSPECTOR
GENERAL'S OFFICE, ALLEN LOST OUT ON TOP
NATO JOB - OBAMA GAVE HIM GENTLE "PUSH"

Marine Gen. John Allen, a 1976 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, served this country admirably for more than 36 years. Now he has announced he wants to retire.

The 59 year-old former top officer in Afghanistan cited his wife's "chronic" illness and said he wants to devote more time to helping his beloved Kathy cope with serious health problems, including an undisclosed "auto-immune disorder."

We join the vast majority of Americans who pray the general's wife will get better, and thank him for his service to this country. But one would have to be pathetically naive not to realize that a major factor in Allen's sudden departure is the mess he got into last year with a "generals groupie" in Florida.

THE GENERAL AND THE SOCIALITE

It's "bad judgment" at minimum to exchange more than 20,000 e-mails with the mysterious Jill Kelley, a Tampa socialite who threw lavish parties for top CENTCOM brass. This status-seeker freaked out when she got "threatening" e-mails from another gal, the much better-looking LTC Paula Broadwell, USAR, and called in the FBI.

The over-rated media-darling GEN David Petraeus had to resign his new post as CIA director when it was revealed he and his much-younger lover had an affair while Broadwell was in Kabul writing a fawning book about him.

We are not in the least bit surprised that both Petraeus and Broadwell, who could have been brought up on charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for committing adultery and conduct unbecoming an officer, have not even received a slap-on-the-wrist from the military. Once again, "different spanks for different ranks."

CLEARED BY PENTAGON INSPECTOR GENERAL

In the case of Gen. Allen, we wonder how a man entrusted with leading our war effort in Afghanistan could find the time to communicate so often with a woman not his wife. A small number of the e-mails, informed sources told MilitaryCorruption.com, contain language that could be described as "inappropriate," "flirtatious" and "suggestive."

But in the final analysis, the Pentagon I. G., as we knew they would, gave Allen a clean bill of health and cleared him of all wrong-doing. However, that didn't come without cost.

Allen, widely thought to be a lock to become supreme commander of NATO after completing his Afghanistan assignment, saw his coveted appointment held up. It was said the job was his again, after the I.G. investigation concluded, but President Barack Obama, the commander-in-chief, was reportedly not amused.

Despite warm words of praise for his retiring general, those in the know say Allen got a "gentle push" toward the exit door.

The story about his wife's illness is true, but Allen's poor judgment sealed his fate. His career was for all intensive purposes over when headlines of his questionable communications with Jill Kelley hit the headlines.

OK any other top general(s) have any dirt on them?

Sorry if this seems unfair, but more of this stuff (just like any other organization/gubmint agency), civilians will lose faith in the military.
