GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence on Thursday predicted that Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion, would be overturned if Donald Trump is elected president.
Im pro-life and I dont apologize for it, he said during a town hall meeting here. Well see Roe vs. Wade consigned to the ash heap of history where it belongs.

Remember, earlier this week, Rush said Trump should call the Democrats baby butchers and so on?

“”My idea for a short Trump speech, maybe an intro to the speech that he’s gonna give to his improv at all of these appearances, is just list who the Democrats are,” Limbaugh told his radio audience.
“Black Lives Matter, New Black Panthers, Occupy Wall Street, stripping God from their party platform, transgender bathroom advocates, pro-death panels, baby butchers!” he said. “A candidate who violated the Espionage Act thousands of times, sexual predators, pedophiles, illegals, Sharia Muslims, Marxists. That’s the Democrat Party today.”
And yet people will still vote for them. I heard the Bernie fans are the worst, absolutely hate this country they do ...
Are you trying to imply that pushing for no abortions under any circumstance is a winning issue for republican ticket in 2016? I am not getting than feedback from young college graduates in Northwest.
Not ALL Bernie fans hate this country. I think some of them hate the situation they find themselves in 2016 USA. They have large student debts, can’t find good jobs, we are hemorrhaging Billions of dollars in foreign wars while the national debt keeps growing and will be passed on to them. They are desperate. They are looking for someone who understands their plight.
The media hasn’t attacked Pence either. They did an article about it here, but this isn’t dominating news discussions because this is known as the goal of every Republican POTUS candidate. Hillary and the Dems know it, hence all the pro-abortion rhetoric at the DNC. Trump says he is pro-life, says Roe vs. Wade is bad law, and says the best thing he can do for pro-lifers is to appoint pro-life justices. Why would Trump continually tout that his justices will be pro-life if not for the Roe vs. Wade issue?
Again, because I like you, I will explain one more time.
Nominating a person for judge on SCOTUS or Federal court does NOT get the president to decide on any issue. The president depends on how his nominee will rule. Some Reagan appointees to SCOTUS turned out to be more liberal than conservative. Justice Roberts was nominated by pro-life president Bush and voted in favor of Obamacare.
No President can change abortion laws all by himself. Only the SCOTUS can change it in the future. President has the constitutional authority to nominate judges, but not changing any law unilaterally. Therefore no candidate should say “Roe Vs Wade will be gone if I am elected”. But he can always say, I will nominate justices who favor right to life, and I hope those justices will rule in sync with my wish. But I can not dictate what the outcome will be.
hi! was just going through yahoo news and saw this article, too...
“Although around half of Americans still call themselves pro-choice, seventy-eight percentnearly eight in ten in this countrysupport substantial restrictions on abortion. It turns out not all Americans who call themselves pro-choice take the extreme position that abortion should be legal at any stage of pregnancy for any reason.
And the younger the survey participant, the less pro-choice they become. A similar study by Students for Life of America found that just seventeen percent of millennials support anything-goes abortion. Most, it turns out, want abortion heavily regulated and restricted to the earliest stages of pregnancy. In fact, an astonishing sixty-two percent of those who describe themselves as pro-choice believe abortion should be banned after the first trimester!”
Listen, I understand exactly what you are saying. I know how the process works. However, Trump has a list of SCOTUS picks who have been praised by pro-life groups. He is picking people he knows are pro-life, so of course they are going to be opposed to Roe vs. Wade. If they are opposed, they will overturn it if possible. I feel like we are picking at semantics here. The bottom line is that if someone is a passionate abortion supporter who cares about Roe vs. Wade being maintained, they’ll vote Hillary.
Exactly, we are indeed picking at semantics. My point is the ticket candidates should act smart. There are a lot of LIV’s out there. Less than 0.001% voters log on to FR. Candidates should not make statements like “If Trump wins, Row Vs Wade will be reversed”. There is no such guarantee. Therefore do not give the MSM any room to pounce on it.
I don’t want to re-ignite this topic but what is your point?
I didn’t join to make friends. I’m here to try to save my country.
Get off my back! You don’t Know me and you sure as heck don’t have any right what so ever to tell me how I should express my opinion
Ah, just that America is more pro-life than the truthful/s media portrays.
The people who are aghast at the thought of Roe v Wade being overturned were never going to vote Republican anyway.
I see no harm.
I don’t think we should run from this. I think there is a powerful case to be made to paint hillary as the ultimate cold, evil, heartless person who supports the late term dismemberment of viable babies. Put it out there in stark graphic terms to the average person who may not know what an awful horrific act of violence it is.
Even justice scalia said roe vs wade is the law of the land. It will never be over turned.
also, remember, Trump is and always has been, pro choice.
