Thirty-five years after he tried to kill a president, John Hinckley has won his freedom.
A federal judge in Washington, D.C., has granted a request for Hinckley to leave the mental hospital where he's lived for decades, to go live full-time with his elderly mother in Williamsburg, Va.
The release could happen as early as next week, the judge ruled. Under the terms of his order, Hinckley is not allowed to contact his victims, their relatives or actress Jodie Foster, with whom he was obsessed. Hinckley also will not be permitted to "knowingly travel" to areas where the current president or members or Congress are present. The judge said Hinckley could be allowed to live on his own or in a group home after one year.

He only did that because of the race aspect of Helter Skelter. Sure he would’ve overlooked it otherwise.
Seems to me that those who let these folks back out on the street, should receive the same prison sentence they get, when they commit a future crime.

I assume that Hinckley will still be allowed to watch movies, read books/magazines, and do any number of things that will rekindle his deranged fantasy life sooner or later. Schizophrenia doesn't just go away (though patients often have long remission periods where they seem more or less lucid), so the man is still a ticking time bomb.
If I was Jodie Foster I would be very paranoid.
If this guy harm anyone else, Hinckley and the Judge should be locked up.

They only did this to give smiling faces to the crowd at the DNC Convention. Nothing more. ORRR.... get him to assassinate Trump.
I’m sure that by now Hinckley has found a new teen actress to obsess over.
The Dims could have put him on to speak at tonight's convention as another in a long string of "victims" of this horrible country and its law enforcement.

If hill can be on video to accept a nomination, no reason why hinck can't do the same from his jail cell. The Criminal Appreciation Convention must continue! Hill & Hinck - partners!
