The NCAA on Friday said cities looking to host future championship games must submit details by Aug. 12 about how they will protect participants from discrimination, a move that could hurt North Carolina's chances of landing future games.
The announcement came one day after the NBA said it was moving the 2017 All-Star Weekend from Charlotte over a controversial North Carolina law known as House Bill 2.
Cities that have already been awarded games will face a separate questionnaire deadline, which will be determined later, the NCAA said.

Cities bidding for games now must complete a questionnaire from the NCAA detailing any local anti-discrimination laws. One of the questions asks: "Does your city, county/parish and/or state regulate choice of bathrooms or locker rooms that may affect student-athletes, coaches, administrators, or game officials during the Event?"
The NCAA said committees for each of its 90 NCAA championships will use the questionnaire information to ensure they award championships to cities that meet all hosting requirements.

Those college libtards can get their panties in a hell of a wad ... at any time ... over almost anything!
The Marxists ratchet up the pressure on NC. The governor needs to lay out how his bill simply codifies the status quo that already existed. The public is on our side on this issue we long as it doesn’t get mangled and misinterpreted.
What horse blank this is.
Now the NCAA is feeling the need to bend over backwards over trans-whatever people going to the bathroom??
To paraphrase whoever originated the phrase, is this really the hill they want to die on??? The hill of trans-whatever bathrooms and locker rooms, is really the biggest issue facing the NCAA and their sports activities??? Really?????
And take Mike Krzyzewski with you.
The end of NCAA approaches
Personally, I wouldn’t Pi$$ on the NBA if all of them were collectively on fire. Dittoi for Baseball and Football. It’s long past time for this country to put “professional sports” in proper perspective. And that includes stopping the thinking that it’s o.k. to have the rest of us who don’t give a $hit about any of it to have to pay for places for these self-important turds to play and make obscene money, then have the move on when the facility “isn’t good enough for them.” And that goes for “Olympic Venues” as well.
Ultimately the NCAA is a private organization, but is made up primarily members who are public universities.
To counter these measures being taken by the NCAA, the Republican legislatures should prohibit their schools from participating in NCAA championship events.
Can you imagine how the NCAA would react if Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas A&M all refused to play in NCAA championship games?
The problem is, how the voters there would react.
Give us our circuses!
All about money! Screw them I haven’t watched any sports for years. College sports are a cesspool along with the pro sports. Money is all they are worried about. Thugs playing sports, now this crap. End of all the reasons that the colleges wanted them for!
Ah, come on!
Do you really think that the voters of Alabama would react negatively if the Alabama legislature prohibited both Auburn and Alabama from playing in a national championship game?
I'd like it though.
“And take Mike Krzyzewski with you.”
Yup. Not surprising as he’s an effing lib regardless of his west point cred. Now I hate Duke more than ever.
money and criminals ... I stopped watching football after Jim Brown retired picked hockey up with Gretzky and left it after he retired. Haven’t been back since.
I heard him on the radio decrying HB2 (the NC bathroom bill).
I didn’t like him before, but now I find him simply insupportable.
Problem: the best black players coming out of high school would vote with their feet and go to the Blue State public universities. There would be heavy incentive for them to do so.
Thee NCAA needs to go away. It is just an over bloated, too powerful, over reaching layer of administration that should be handled by the conferences. It removes oversight by the “people” whose taxes support education. Even private schools depend on federally insured student loans and grants for survival.
You want to start a rebellion...mess with Alabama football.
Couldn’t agree more!!!!!
I’m thoroughly disappointed by professional sports. I finally rejoiced because my hometown Cleveland Cavaliers won a national title. Now with political correctness dominating the NBA, I don’t care if I ever watch a game again. The same goes for this NCAA nonsense. If kissing up to sodomites and deviants is what necessary to ba sports fan these days, then I’m going back to watching reruns of my 1964 Browns!
