Thank God Trump, not Cruz is running.
I didn’t expect Cruz to endorse Trump and him failing to do so is not unprecedented.
Obviously the crowd wanted to hear it, but they didn’t.
Will it have an impact? Short term, Cruz will be in the dog house certainly, but honestly I thought his chances or re-election were slim after some of his actions in the primary. But 2018 is 2 years away, and who knows where politics will be by then.
Personally I think the press whipped this into more of a big deal that it was at the end of the day, the conservative press especially. Yes it would have been nice to have had an endorsement, but was it necessary? Not really.
Reagan never endorsed Ford in 76. I do think its a bad short term move for Cruz.. whether it will be a bad long term move will be seen in 18.
Yep. I've seen several reports about that incident now. Cruz just burnt a helluva lot of bridges.
After tonight, I don't even know that he'll be able to function in the Senate. He's made himself completely radioactive to everyone on the right side of the aisle.
Oh please. Ted Cruz is finished politically. America saw tonight a bitter sore loser. Not gonna fly with many voters anymore. Cruz put himself before the party and country. He’s a goner!
We’ll see, 2018 is a long way away, and Cruz doesn’t have to win with the voters of America, just win over enough voters in TX to keep his job.
Can he do it? I don’t know, but the fact he didn’t endorse Trump wasn’t surprising or really that shocking to me at all and I see it having very little impact on the general election that he didn’t.
It certainly will hurt Cruz short term, and makes likelihood of Cruz being somewhere in the administration low.. but bear in mind, Clintons and Obamas hated, absolutely hated each other after 2008, yet eventually Barry named Hillary Secretary of State... so, politics leads to some strange events.
We’ll see in 18 if Cruz fully killed his career tonight, frankly I thought some of his actions during the primary probably had already killed it.. but time will tell.
Except for the career-ending self-immolation part.
Minor detail.
“Mrs. Lincoln, if you could just put aside your husband’s assassination for a moment, what did you think of the play?”
CNN ... Blocked from Adelson suite ...
Thanks for posting that. Wouldn't have seen it otherwise since I cannot stand those putzes at CNN, who are good for nothing now that the primaries are done.
Re-watched the crash and burn Cruzenburg speech. Thing is, he had perfectly tee'd himself up for massive applause and adoration ... all he had to do was enthusiastically say a few words! It was his night to own!
Amazing. Completely and utterly tone deaf. All his supposed intellect? A complete urban myth and intentional lie. This is a low IQ person like Obama.
I might have to try to listen to Rush and Levin tomorrow, maybe even Beck. Tomorrow it is their turn to stare over the cliff and either jump or climb to safety.
Ted had only one goal.
He wanted to make his Bill Clinton speech, endearing himself as a devout Conservative. Then in four years, he’d pick up and rule the roost. There’s just one problem.
Me Too Ted stood there and categorized Trump’s vision for the nation issue by issue, oblivious to the notion folks listening would realize this.
So Ted’s “moment” was anything but.
Build the wall?
Limit immigration?
Restrict Isis from coming here?
Ted, for heaven’s sake, WTH were you thinking?
Trump pushed those and the other issues you raised tonight, for 12 month. You didn’t know? You still don’t know? You can’t grasp that you just pushed the platform of a man you have refused to endorse.
Yes Ted, folks will vote their conscience. Unlike you, they will vote for Trump instead of Hillary.
Evidently you don’t have a conscience.
Tonight was the last straw Ted. I have zero respect for you.
Fortunately, I’m not the only one.
Would have been a better speech if it hadn’t been precisely what Trump has been pushing for 12 months.
You didn’t notice?
We all be watching all the “news” and media, when they call Cruz out for plagiarizing and stealing all of Donald Trumps lines and talking points, just like they tried to create a storm over Melania.
I do realize that. Suspected it for a long time.
I do believe that Lyin’ Ted and Hillary are solid allies at this point too.
Your number 5 is too optimistic, implying dead Cruz has a future.
He doesn’t.
Heidi divorces him in a few months.
He eventually realizes his lifelong dream of becoming president is now beyond his reach.
1.3 to 1 odds dead Cruz commits suicide in a year.
Reagan did endorse Ford in 76. Another Freeper posted it.
People expected Cruz to endorse Trump because he signed a pledge to endorse the nominee! Will the lack of endorsement hurt Trump? No. Will the failure to endorse hurt Cruz? Yes.

I’ve beat the nevertrumpers on reddit black and blue over Cruz’s oath breaking. It really doesn’t sit well even with his most fanatical fans.
For the first time in decades, I am proud of my Washington State Republican Party. Did not see this coming.
> watching him tonight shows that he has no real personality or like-ability. He is completely condescending when he speaks. The American public hates that.
It only proves to me that FR got this one right early on, despite the rancid clamor that followed for months. We stood firm and tonight proved a majority of FR called it right. Ted never failed to disappoint.

Seemed to me Cruz thought he could get away with endorsing Trump without mentioning Trump’s name...Cruz endorsed the positions that only Trump has pushed thru out the campaign...
Cruz said, ‘vote your conscience’ and unless Cruz plans on being on the ballot in November, he had to be suggesting that people vote for Trump since he just defended and promoted Trump’s talking points...Just as Gingrich commented, that if you vote your conscience you will be voting for Trump...
Cruz still thinks he is the smartest guy in the room and could not admit to the huge mistake of not endorsing Trump the man but blame us for not being smart enough to read between the lines...
Too bad...Cruz was a flash in the pan, now he’s gone...
Q: Why do people immediately dislike Ted Cruz?
A: It saves time...
There’s really no way to make sense of what he’s just done.

Likewise with Jeb Bush and John Kacich. They too are being ruled by childish impulses.
The funny thing about Cruz is that he basically substantiated the things Trump accused him of. ‘Lying Ted’ said in March 2016 that he would support the party’s nominee but clearly lied about that. It was stunning to watch a political meltdown like this.
He missed a golden opportunity to polish his image and elevate his stature in the party. A mature person with a healthy ego would have seen that and seized the moment.
“They too are being ruled by childish impulses.”
...and Soros/globalist $$$$$
