This could go down as the most egregious example of an MSM anchor groveling at the feet of a liberal activist . . . During MSNBCs coverage of the opening night of the Republican convention, Tavis Smiley complained that, unlike cop killers, killer cops are not called vicious and despicable and cowardly and reprehensible.
Brian Williams immediately piped up: Tavis, if I appointed you president and you still refused to run we would have to appoint you. Im guessing Williams meant to say if I nominated you for president you and you refused to run we would have to appoint you. But in his obsequious excitement, poor Brian stumbled on his words. But we get it, Williams: theres nobody youd rather see as president, even if it means overturning democracy and appointing him, than someone willing to call cops vicious, despicable, cowardly and reprehensible.

Tavis Smiley’s talk of “vicious, killer cops” gets Brian Williams so excited he wants to appoint Smiley president.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Tavis Smiley = Can’t Understand Normal Thinking.
Tavis Smiley is a RACIST and NOTHING about him is worth smiling about....he is one angry racist.
Easy answer to all this. Cops should just leave the blacks alone. Whenever, whatever, if the perp is black just don’t bother them. The resulting chaos would largely be confined to black areas and in 6 months the ferals would be dead. Problem solved.
Remind me again how Aesop has a job?
Yep. You suppose him squeezing a f.a. trigger on a bunch of white guys would bring a huge smile to Smiley’s face?
One of these days Travis Smiley is gonna meet up with Sheriff Joe Clark and the result will be ugly for smiling Trav...
Brian Williams use of the word appointed is interesting. The press for many years has believed it to be there job to tell the American people who they are supposed to vote into office.
Jerk.
“..dumb as a bag of rocks!”
Williams really is that dumb, he’s a poster child for smarmy TelePrompter readers passing as reporters, I had thought the MSN editors finally hid him away somewhere to save them from further embarrassment,
Mavis Smiley is an idiot!
Good to see you involved with LI.
Williams is bias toward Smiley because they worked in a patrol car together during the 1968 riots in Harlem - I think I heard Williams say.
Sounds like Brian wants him some Mandingo lovin’
Send each of them a bottle of Astroglide, sounds like they’re going to need it.
[’Cops are killers and are gunning down poor blacks. Everyone says so. This is common knowledge. How can people deny this? To defend the cops is racist. This is white privilege. etc. etc.’]
They don't have the capacity to challenge their own beliefs, and to revise their views based on facts. The facts, IMHO, include:
1. The world is a complex place, and attempting to analyze it without living in it is not ever going to be as fruitful as living and growing in the real world. As such, believing that you have a superior and more knowledgeable world view because it was formulated at a university is no more credible than thinking that you can become a world-class soccer star by playing FIFA 16 (or I guess 17 now).
2. No race, color, or creed owns righteousness, nor do any of them own the bad things about human behavior. People are people, and there is no lack of jerks (and obviously worse) in the world. They come in all colors, shapes, and sizes.
3. Despite number 2, there are clearly at any given time in history people from different segments of the world who are more dangerous and cause more harm than others. To ignore this is equally destructive as thinking that number 2 isn't true. Stalin-type communists/socialists, Nazis, and now radical Islamists are some that come to mind.
4. The problems of the inner city, and the issues facing the black community are also very complex, and to solve them will require an honest and open assessment of all things contributing (e.g. gangs, breakdown of family, loss of self-esteem and lack of belief in self-determinism, loss of respect for life in some segments, lingering affects and resentments because of prejudices that the black community suffered - but has actually proudly overcome and that doesn't exist anymore at the levels Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would have you believe, and the fact that globalism as a ‘progressive’ concept has hurt blacks and those of all races who are trying to climb the ladder in America.). There are a ton of other contributors, but they won't be fixed by ramping up resentment and pointing fingers - and less than thoughtful ideologues in the media whose world view was shaped in a sociology class long ago in a galaxy far away aren't helping things by spouting the same uninformed inaccuracies.
This from Lyin’ Brian? Oh! OK!
Stupid quote of the month.
Thanks, kanawa! Bill Jacobson leads a great group of folks there. Glad to be associated with them!
