This year’s RNC may be a grand old segregated party.
Republican National Convention organizers are scrambling to replace signs labeling a bank of elevators the “white elevators.”
The Jim Crow-esque signs were seen in Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena, where thousands of Republican delegates, politicians and supporters are expected to formally nominate bombastic businessman Donald Trump as their party’s presidential pick this week.

Byron Tau is the name of the WSJ reporter who first made comment about it and Meg Wagner is the Daily News reporter who followed it up with racist comments.
These two are not worthy of the title “news reporter”. They are opinionistas and should be labeled as such.

Why would the CITY OF CLEVELAND, which owns the convention center, still have “Whites Only” signs on their elevators?
Cleveland has a DEMOCRAT MAYOR, does he have that big of a problem with blacks?

You are absolutely correct.
HOWEVER, the law was signed by President Lyndon B Johnson, a Democrat.
In true democrat fashion the donks proceeded to take credit for the bill as soon as they saw an advantage in using it, even though they had fought it tooth and nail.
Typically the Republican party didn’t fight back and lost the PR battle.
They believe anything they want to believe. NO filtering. They are constantly on the lookout for something to be offended about and to justify their narrowmindness. Anything for the cause.

The GOP convention organizers have to know that the media will be looking for nonsense like this to target - any five year old already knows it. It would be very helpful if the people responsible for making these kinds of choices weren’t brain dead or completely unaware of what’s going on around them in America today.
