Rudy is too retired and doesn’t impress me as someone ready and able to play hardball. Christie, yes.
He was in trouble in re election That’s one reason I made phone calls to find out what had happened with LGBT
Since then I started researching-— lots more on positive then negative
He was set up by media to target both our governor and senate seats by liberal media. The D realized they had failed on senate actually switched their candidate to Bayh.
See posts above with for financial successes in the state
I look at him as the guy with the least baggage. VP does little to woo voters but can sure be used to trash the ticket ala Palin* and Quayle, the last Indiana based VP selection.
Christie and Newt would have been savaged in the media the way Trump is and Pence isn’t. Besides, Christie isn’t conservative and really messed up my state so I’m not a fan at all.
All things considered, I think Future President Trump chose a very good VP. He’s certainly a step up from Crazy Joe Biden but that’s not saying much.
*I really do like Sarah Palin and will always support a true patriot like her despite the way she’s been marginalized on the national political level.
No, no more DHS.
There wasn’t a NeverReagan movement.
He doesn’t need to start naming cabinet until he’s won the election.
Pence was one if only to speak at Tea Party event in DC
Find it amusing at all the congress critters who have used his appointment as an excuse to jump on the Trump Train. When many ( including Newt and Ryan) were on the opposite side of many issues while he was there. He tried to get rid of earmarks Stop any bill without funding. Went head to head with Bush to stop the spending
I believe it to be true because of how this whole thing has gone down. Trump sounded unsure in his Fox interviews last night, and there were multiple reports he was unsure. He took this decision right down to the wire, and I think it was for a reason.
This is from a reporter:
“Trump supported TARP. Pence opposed. Trump opposed NAFTA, Pence supports. Ditto on TPP. Trump supported Muslim Ban. Pence opposed.”
I think that would have to pose real concerns for Trump, so I can believe he was conflicted. I would be. Don’t forget, him and Christie have been friends for many years.
Hillary is loving your posts.
Yes indeed. Pence complements Trump in many regards. He adds conservative credentials and government experience to the mix. He speaks well and won't upstage Trump. He doesn't seem to tick anyone off. Safe choice for Trump and keeps attention on Trump rather than the VP.
Pence never used the word endorse re Cruz. If you listen to the radio spot, Pence praised Trump lavishly and didn’t praise Cruz at all. He merely said he was voting for Cruz. Some have said from the time it happened that it favored Trump more than Cruz.
Cabinet officers are normally selected after the election.
‘I look at him as the guy with the least baggage. VP does little to woo voters but can sure be used to trash the ticket ala Palin* and Quayle, the last Indiana based VP selection.’
This. Trump had a choice: spend the next three-plus months defending his veep from a vicious, nonstop avalanche of Dem/MSM attacks, or pick Pence. That’s the reality.
Trump made the right decision.
OK, now onward.
I like that Pence rhymes with fence, actually.
Any reason in particular you came here to dump on Pence? Sore loser Cruzer?

German Pence = Bentz
a bunch of Irish, such as Mary Ellen Reilly of Illinois.
the Presss, they gotta raise a stink about something. Maybe Karen Pence becomes the new Sarah Palin.
Dana Bash isn’t the only one saying Trump was having second thoughts.
I’ve heard oth CNN and FOX reporting this morning that even after Pence dropped out of his re-election campaign and flew to New York last night, Trump was still wavering. Can’t imagine how Pence must have felt about that. Then Newt said this morning that he had not received word that he was out of the race.
I would assume that Trump’s tweet sealed the deal, but not before some serious drama.
Circus.
OK. I just recall one of Pence’s talking points kept justifying the language of the bill by comparing it to the Illinois law without seeming to appreciate that Illinois already had statewide protections against sex discrimination. The Indiana law does not have such language on civil rights and clauses to insert it in the bill were rejected, among other differences. Which gave the impression he wasn’t clued in on some important details that gave other states cover under federal law.
