Thirty-one people were arrested Friday night (July 8) and early Saturday during a protest outside Baton Rouge police headquarters, Louisiana State Police said. The crowd protested what they believed to be police brutality demonstrated by this week's fatal shooting of Alton Sterling by a Baton Rouge officer.

That’s a good way of putting it. If I may add to that, some even see green lights. As I said, the considerations and attitudes aren’t completely monolithic. All depends on who you talk to.
Certainly though, there’s a significant percentage of blacks who are so culturally disconnected from mainstream America, that they easily buy in to the hate and race baiting poison that’s pitched to them day and night.
It’s those people Rev Peterson and others are trying to reach.
Yeah, I was just looking at the other case, the Louisiana case.
The kindest most sympathetic way I think we can put it, is that here was a chap bent on torture-testing the police system, and then when it finally, in some technical sense, failed, leaving a cause behind to claim that the police system tortured him.
Um. Maybe we should treat this as a lesson in attitudes to try to avoid, that rage will envelop itself in futility. I wish Rev. Peterson well.
And personally, I can sympathize with the feelings of some rage-a-holics (addicts to rage) even while disagreeing with the wisdom of it. They seem to have an impossible load on their shoulders. The only real answer (again this is theology, bear with me please) is to put that load on God. I would wager his life was replete with recriminations, however the circumstances in which they were incurred. The dirty little secret we carry is that we are all sinners in need of forgiveness, and if we are in a truly unforgiving situation, that sin will fester. There’s a reason that the Band-Aid has an absorbent pad, not just a piece of glossy tape. The suppuration of a wound has to go somewhere.

This might sound cold, but I don’t sympathize with the rage-a-holics at all. Not even a little bit.
Like I’ve told black people a thousand times, the war against institutionalized racism in America was fought over forty years ago - and we won.
People need to quit inventing boogeyman where none exist. You want a better life? Good. No one’s holding you back, or stopping you from achieving anything you want in life - except maybe the fear mongers, haters, and race baiters, who profit from fomenting unrest, distrust, and anger amongst Americans.
It’s up to the individual to take stock of their surroundings and honestly compare the poisonous rhetoric of the left with the concrete reality before their eyes. Simply swallowing the continuous load of hateful drivel from SJWs, is irresponsible in the extreme, considering that doing so, compels one to make war on their fellow citizens. Are you seriously going to bend your mind towards a permanent outlook of hatred, just because some loudmouth told you to? Really?

The lesson here (yet again) is:
Cooperate with police and law enforcement on a basic level, and everyone will get home safely.
You’d think that after all of these highly publicized incidents, young black men would learn the same thing their fathers did - namely - when an officer stops you, be respectful and let him do his job.
It’s not personal.
He’s not ‘dissing’ you by interacting with you.
You did something to draw his attention, and it’s his duty to check it out.
He is authorized to use force to gain your compliance if you resist.
If you insist upon resisting, you may pay for that resistance with your life.

It’s Louisiana. I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes. Louisianans of all colors have a pretty good track record of getting along, and being decent to each other. Baton Rouge is not as corrupted as NOLA.
I think you are thinking of Lee Circle in New Orleans. The mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu, brother to the former senator is perhaps the foulest, lowest, most base person I have ever met, and that includes some people who starved one of their children to death. He is in overdrive to obliterate every statue, landmark and street name that references any Confederate in New Orleans, soLee Circle may not be there long.
Mitch Landrieu is filth, and not merely because of this. His status as filth was established long ago in his campaign against Donald Mintz for NOLA mayor. They both lost.

Al Capone tried to come to NOLA and make demands. The head of the local syndicate meet him at the train station with about 7 local "police" officers. They disarmed Al and his bodyguards, broke the hands of the bodyguards, and sent Al and his gang back to Chicago. At least that is how the story goes.
There are only so many ways in and out of NOLA and once you are in the city there are only so many ways you can use to get around because of all the canals and the river.
The problem is Ol’ Mitch can’t get any contractors to remove the monuments.
