I think you are thinking of Lee Circle in New Orleans. The mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu, brother to the former senator is perhaps the foulest, lowest, most base person I have ever met, and that includes some people who starved one of their children to death. He is in overdrive to obliterate every statue, landmark and street name that references any Confederate in New Orleans, soLee Circle may not be there long.
Mitch Landrieu is filth, and not merely because of this. His status as filth was established long ago in his campaign against Donald Mintz for NOLA mayor. They both lost.
The problem is Ol’ Mitch can’t get any contractors to remove the monuments.
