Preamble to the Declaration of Independence

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

No, not going to buy more because odds are we won’t get to shoot them tomorrow evening. I got to shoot something so it’s all good. LOL!

We just normally bought a LOT more each year to take to the annual party our friends had but since they’re in FL, no party.

Bummer they’re banned there. They’re legal to buy here year-round but we can only shoot them for a couple of weeks around July 4th, and again on New Year’s Eve.
There must be a lot of parties around the county tonight because it STILL sounds like a war zone out there. The poor cats are in a twitch. LOL!

We all got together yesterday, daughter came in from Massachusetts. Celebrated a couple Birthdays

LOL! That’s pretty much the expression on several faces here. They aren’t scrambling but they’re looking all around trying to figure out where the “thumps” are coming from. A couple are crying a bit.

I imagine there was a scramble when I set stuff off a while ago. *snicker* I wasn’t far from the house so all the whistles, screams, and POWs were plenty loud.

I’m still picking pieces of charred stuff out of my hair. They were blowing right overhead and were spectacular. :-)

It’s been good enough here. Quiet until I set off fireworks a little while ago and freaked out the cats. LOL! Folks all around the county are shooting them, too, and there are still “thumps” going on.

And we got rain this afternoon and THAT made the weekend fabulous. Happy soybeans in the fields tonight.
