U.S. Sen. Ted Cruzs poll numbers have slid in the aftermath of his unsuccessful bid for the Republican nomination for president, according to the new University of Texas/Texas Politics Project poll released Monday, leaving Gov. Greg Abbott far and away the most popular Republican in the state.
Abbott has an 11 percentage-point approval margin among the general electorate calculated by taking those who like what hes doing minus those who dont and a 65 percentage-point net approval rating among Republicans. Cruz has a 39-point net approval margin among Republicans, but, among the broader electorate, he has an approval margin of -18 points.
Thats the biggest deficit for the big-name Republicans the Texas Politics Project named in the survey...
and I would imagine that Ms. Wendy Davis is watching.

Texas isn’t going to elect a democrat as US Senator at this time. You know that
but may well change as more and more imports are brought into citzenship.
Shocking: the more he talks, the less people like him. He needs to get over his butthurt and endorse Trump like the brilliant statesman he is supposed to be.
Yes, I thought Cruz would be a real conservative, now we keep getting stuck with these Establishment dolts.
Hes not up for election.
The heck he isn’t. He’s begging me to let him keep my (early on) Presidential campaign donation, for his 2018 Senate campaign. Of course I told him “not just no, but h#ll no!” and to refund my $ (that’s an actual option).
What will be interesting, will be whether Cornball Cornyn endorses St Ted, since cRuz didn’t endorse Cornyn’s re-election run.
I wonder how long cRuz’s Prez campaign will take to reimburse me my $.
That is what the poster was saying.
Is there a Plan B?
cRuz’s co-written, with Lyin Paul RRYNO, Op-Ed for TPP and pushing Fast Track will likely come back to haunt him.
‘And yet so many FREEPERS, from Texas, claimed that I didnt know what I was talking about, when I kept telling them the the bloom was waaaaaaaaaaay off the rose, vis-a-vis Teddy; now. Obviously, I know far more about how the people of Texas feel about Teddy, than they do !’
The same thing has happened to me.
Well said
Ony Cruznadiens double down on stoopidity ..
Agreed. His large negative is based upon demeanor, trivial but true.
snort, snicker, giggle, lmao, karma for lying.
;-)
(I posted that earlier :)
Cannot be posted enough!
I thought Wendy had gone away, but saw several MSM articles boosting her as the “big winner” in the SCOTUS abortion ruling. My own view is that in Texas that will actually be a negative.
Wendy really needs to migrate to a blue state where her progressive bona fides will actually be appealing to the voters.
Lyin Ted.
If he had left the race at a reasoned time, I believe there could have been. From my perspective, he killed that opportunity. That’s why I say at this point, find something to like about Trump and say nice things.
That seems to be very hard for Ted. That’s a shame.
If Trump were ravaging Conservatism, I’d join Ted in his criticism. Trump is not ravaging Conservatism. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with things like BrExit. He got that exactly right.
Further, Trump is a quick study. He already knows the members of the press’s names.
Last week when addressing BrExit from Scotland, he got BrExit right, Britian’s outlook right, Obama’s, and Hillary’s outlooks right.
He blistered Obama and Mrs. Clinton by simply revealing their attempts to tell the British what to do.
In that one speech, Trump nailed four major topics.
1. BrExit exactly right
2. Obama and Hillary exactly right (tied them to evil and contrasted his BrExit actions which were very rational)
3. Stood up for the aspirations of all peoples, and how we should deal with the peoples of other nations. Say our piece, and then let them do what they should, make up their own minds.
4. Be a strong ally to our long term friends.
This guy is very presidential.
