U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s poll numbers have slid in the aftermath of his unsuccessful bid for the Republican nomination for president, according to the new University of Texas/Texas Politics Project poll released Monday, leaving Gov. Greg Abbott far and away the most popular Republican in the state.
Abbott has an 11 percentage-point approval margin among the general electorate — calculated by taking those who like what he’s doing minus those who don’t — and a 65 percentage-point net approval rating among Republicans. Cruz has a 39-point net approval margin among Republicans, but, among the broader electorate, he has an approval margin of -18 points.
That’s the biggest deficit for the big-name Republicans the Texas Politics Project named in the survey...

What issues has Cruz helped pass in the senate, other than TPP?
This Texas is TOTALLY PERPLEXED. At most, all that Cruz needed to do was sit out the 2016 presidential election...but that was too much, so now he’s some kind of martyr, at least to some of his supporters.
TPP was ill defined at that point and he has since rejected TPP as the details emerged.
Ted had a platform he was running on.

Re George P. Just really amazed me to see all the people that voted for him in the last election. Unfortunately there seem to be a whole lot of Bush loyalists left in the state. GPB put a lot of his buddies on the state payroll in the Land Commissioner’s office so somebody is going to have to do a lot of housecleaning.
Would be great if the Governor would make GPB ante up for all the time he was not doing his job and was out campaigning for Yeb.

I don't think so, that's why I'm calling you out. I'm old enough to know you don't know as much about real Texas conservatives and their values as you believe. You must be very active and involved in Texas political circles to be so confident of your opinions of Cruz and those who supported him. If your only activism is calling me a damn fool because I disagree, then you are only making my point. It's time to move on and leave your opinion of Cruz out of this. Try concentrating on defeating Hillary and the globalists. Belittling Cruz won't help defeat Hillary.
