FRANCE today told Britain to appoint a new prime minister within a few days and to immediately quit the EU by soon triggering Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.
Speaking in Berlin following a meeting of the six founding member states of the EU, French foreign minister Jean-Marc Ayrault told the UK not to play a cat and mouse game following the historic Brexit vote.
He said: Of course a new prime minister must be appointed, that will probably require a few days but this is quite urgent.

Hey, you friggin’ frog...shut the hell up!
This is exactly why people voted to leave EU: getting ordered by Surrender Monkeys to do jaque Schitt.
As for the prime minister part, France has no say in that matter. The Conservative party has to select a new leader first, and that should be done well before October but certainly not within days.
They’re showing the UK why they should leave. Euroweenie countries like France wouldn’t have any control or say how the UK does business.
I can’t think of anything more likely to solidify Britains decision than this sort of condecention
It looks like Cameron is trying to delay starting the two year timer by not invoking Article 50 immediately. I doubt he is doing that for the benefit of the British people. Cameron, you’ve gotten you orders and there is no reason to delay unless you are trying to find a way to disobey. Do it or get out of the way today.
There certainly are voices calling for a vote but there is no indication of the numbers
In coming days, the intensity of the out cry may increase but I don’t forsee a vote any time soon
The EU rut is too deep and comfortable
I’m still scratching my head in disbelief that the UK would have ever joined up with any group that would require them to surrender their sovereign authority to . GEEEEEEEEZZZZZZ !!!
Cameron is their Ted Cruz.
Was the Foreign Minister speaking from his office in Vichy?
And sign some real productive two-country treaties that establish mutually beneficial trade.
It does seem that the mess that has been made of the global economy happened because of trade deals involving multiple countries.
As usual in a UK paper, the comments following the article are better than the copy:
“Oi! Junkyard! We the people never gave our permission for the marriage in the first place. We thought Ted Heath was hiring us a good housemaid, not arranging for a domineering wife to move in with all her bleedin’ relatives - with their grubby paws in the biscuit tin, eating all the chocolate ones. So, not so much a divorce, as an annulment on the grounds of false representation. And if you want to act with any authority on the subject, I suggest you get yourself elected, as if you ever could. I mean to say, who’d vote for a drunkard? That’s what passes for democracy round our neck of the woods - that and getting our household accounts audited to show that nobody is poking a fish-knife up the kids’ money-boxes.”
Cameron is resigning, so the selection procedure for a New party leader will take a month or two.
They're going to need dozens of them since existing ones are with the EU and not the UK.
“Take your Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty and stuff it, bloke.”
“The plan is how about the 48% who want to stay.”
1. Get rid of Scotland (they’re just a bunch of layabouts)
2. Turn Northern Ireland over to Ireland proper
3. Deport all the Muzzies
Problem Solved
Historically, France threatening Britain has never worked out all that well.
“Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time-a”.
