I believe this is largely about the migrant crisis, citizenship or a passport granted in any EU member state allows unfettered travel among all EU member states. Britian just bowed out of that asinine arrangement.

The problem for Italy is they are the primary entry point to Europe for North African migrants via the island of Lampedusa. Italia can only hope the migrants do continue on to other parts of Europe.

” it would be “very, very foolish” to deny the UK a free trade deal after Brexit. “

Isn't it odd that we heard the exact opposite before the vote.

Unfettered immigration was specifically noted last night as I sat up late watching the aftermath on BBC1. One of the BREXIT proponents cited hugely negative sentiment as to what this wide-open influx of humanity has wrought upon working people across the UK. Mostly, they want to be able to speak truthfully about it without being immediately dismissed as a racist nutter, which sounds all too much like someplace else in the world I know.

The EU is not only going to break up, it's going to explode.

My hope is that it is Berlin Wall, Part II.

Nice. And someone drive a wooden stake through its corpse as the EU is buried.

It is my best judgement that the EU will not actually die, it will be transformed. There will be an EU Reformation that will make some similar governance acceptable and the Brits will sign on.

Italy is still POed after the EU declared “emergency measures” (aka threats) a few years ago to oust its PM (Berlusconi).

What was Berlusconi’s crime? He floated the idea of having an EU referendum. The EU threatened sanctions unless he stepped down.

Same could be said for Greece’s former PM George Papandreou. Greece is now a vassal state ruled by an EU troika.

These three countries have a regional identification plus-up. If you travel around to the three...people identify themselves as Zeeland or Gelderland, Tyrol or Como, Parisian or Norman.

I think also that people have discussed this whole method of MP selection/election into the EU, and they are shaking their heads. They can’t really touch the guy....once he’s appointed by his party to be sent into Brussels. You can go and ask a thousand Germans to name one single member from their delegation....other than the chief guy....they can’t name a single German member in the EU.

Merkel is a freaking disaster. First Merkel, then the muslim invasion/infection....especially virulent in London. Of course they all want out.

Our boob of a president stupidly intervened in a foreign country's affairs......he threatened Britain w/ trade sanctions if they voted "leave".....

At the time the remain/leave vote polled even.

But after Boobamba stupidly intervened, the "leave" vote bounced up to 5%....and on the day.

The Boobamba stupidity should be replayed in all of the countries planning referendums.
