House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., says he has no influence over Republican convention delegates' decisions on whether to change their minds about supporting Donald Trump.
Ryan, who endorsed Trump earlier this month, is the convention's chairman. But he told NBC's "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd, "It is not my job to tell delegates to do, what not to do, or to weigh in on things like that. They write the rules. They make their decisions."
Asked for his opinion on the matter, Ryan said, "My opinion is not relevant here."
Trump reaffirmed Sunday that he can win the presidency whether the Republican Party gets behind his candidacy or not.

My point is that once Trump became the party’s for-all-practical-purposes nominee, Boehner wouldn’t have spent weeks playing Ryan’s slimey, sick, backstabbing, pro-Clinton/anti-Trump games.
Ryan is the problem, not the solution.
I don't know if Trump can win without Party support. He may be the only guy in the US that would have a chance.
If he wants the job, he will continue to solicit support from the "establishment."
A leader among his delegates can easily get the names and contact addresses from Priebus for every Cleveland delegate and alternate. That leader would need to contact the delegates to arrange a coup.
While I think that would be fun, I don't expect it.
Andrew Zimmern visited my part of Alaska and ate what he and his crew thought were “Bizarre Foods”. I grew up on
Alaskan Indian food and at my age, I can out work most 70 year olds.
Russia is far worse than here. Still.
He’s a traitor.
Probably not (at least not to Ryan’s extent), no.
Then tarred, feathered and run out of town on a rail. Then put in prison forever.
It’s already been massive.

I wasn’t cursing anyone. You never wish ill on people.

I fully understand Ryan has been undermining Trump....Ryan has endorsed him
Anybody who thinks Ryan will automatically kiss Trumps ring isn't paying attention to Ryan role as speaker...
First of all Trump isn't actually the "official" nominee yet...he will be...Ryan has endorsed him...
As Speaker, Ryan FIRST job is to retain the House...Ryan has to protect and give cover to his members who have districts that are not supporting Trump by a majority...
His people are scared to death of the down ticket effect Trump will have in their districts...
Also Trump has zero say so how the Congress is run...Ryan knows that, does Trump..?
Do you actually think Ryan will give up whatever leverage he has as Speaker due to separation of Powers provision...
I sometimes wonder if anybody here on this board understands how politic works anymore...
It is Badgerland; so the chance of removing Ryan is not too good.
Whether to support the GOP nominee or not is up to voters. Thirteen million of them will not be happy with a corrupt choice.
“Its already been massive.”
Yep. It’s certainly the #1 political topic on air. Let’s hope Manafort has the delegates under control.
There is nothing in Boehner’s history to suggest he’d have gone a tenth as far as Ryan has to sabotage his own party’s de facto nominee.
Question: Speaker Boehner, do you support your own party’s presumptive nominee?
Boehner: I’d like to, but I’m just not there yet.
Please.
And the wrong country.
Since 1997.
LOL!
What a load. Haha. As if Ryan helped the down ticket pols by calling Trump a racist. As if Ryan helps the down ticket pols by infuriating Trump’s many millions of supporters. As if Ryan helps down ticket pols by making gratis campaign ads for Mrs. Clinton.
SMH.
