Ryan: Whether to support Trump or not is up to delegates
Washington Examiner ^ | June 19, 2016 | John Siciliano

Posted on 06/19/2016 12:53:39 PM PDT by Pinkbell

House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., says he has no influence over Republican convention delegates' decisions on whether to change their minds about supporting Donald Trump.

Ryan, who endorsed Trump earlier this month, is the convention's chairman. But he told NBC's "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd, "It is not my job to tell delegates to do, what not to do, or to weigh in on things like that. They write the rules. They make their decisions."

Asked for his opinion on the matter, Ryan said, "My opinion is not relevant here."

Trump reaffirmed Sunday that he can win the presidency whether the Republican Party gets behind his candidacy or not.

So you know that no Trump supporters live in those districts. Link?

How about the four other questions I posed? You are too selective in your response; the other questions are even more to the point.

Haven’t read the other ones. This one caught me. He is referring to the districts Trump overwhelmingly lost so no, Trump supporters do not live in those districts and Popman is correct his job (political-wise) is to bridge both sides and ensure he can keep Congress by not losing those districts to D and eventually the entire house. It’s good to have one powerful scorched earth person (Trump) but not two. If you have two and not someone in the middle bridging the two (those in districts strong Trump and those in which Trump lost) then Congress is lost and real fast.

While I don’t trust Ryan he at least understands this part of politics

Ryan is Obama’s/Hillary's Beta Butt Boy, Period. Tell me what has Ryan passed that even remotely passes as conservative or in the interest of the American People? The Obama Omnibus Bill that adds $1 Trillion to the National Debt? The TPP? Funding Obama Illegal Immigration Order? From the way you frame your sentences you hate Trump. Fine. But the crap that is coming from YOUR republican representatives, House and Senate, is only strengthening Hillary's hand. I thank your for the piss poor loser you are.

So Ryan’s job is to repeat, validate and underscore Dem lies and smears about Trump. His role is to say, “Yes, Trump is just as bad as the Dems claim.” Ryan’s role is to provide sound bites and footage for Hillary Clinton’s anti-Trump campaign ads. Ryan’s role is to undercut his own party’s nominee more than he undercuts Mrs. Clinton.

Whew; so glad we have a Speaker who knows just what to do!

That’s it! Trump needs to have him removed as convention chair. This guy is working for the Democrats!

He’s baiting Trump to do just that. I think personally Trump needs to outflank the GOP in another direction. Like really talking up “campaign finance reform”. Hit Ryan hard right where it hurts: limit the lobbyists stuffing his pockets with cold cash.

He’s only the Speaker of the House, among the highest ranking Republicans in this country. He’s only the chairman of the Republican convention.

He is THE highest ranking elected Republican in the country. 3rd in line to be POTUS after Biden. And he is fragging the POTUS nominee of his own party on a near daily basis. Disgusting. Words fail me.

Maybe I’m not fully understanding the hatred toward Ryan here on this thread...
What he said wasn’t anti-Trump, incorrect or wrong...

House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., says he has no influence over Republican convention delegates’ decisions on whether to change their minds about supporting Donald Trump.

What’s he supposed to say: I will kick out any delegate not voting for Trump ?

Ryan, who endorsed Trump earlier this month, is the convention’s chairman. But he told NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd, “It is not my job to tell delegates to do, what not to do, or to weigh in on things like that. They write the rules. They make their decisions.”

Is that a lie?

Ryan’s endorsement is a worthless as his fairy tale budgets. He’s been fragging Trump on a near daily basis lately in the press. Going so far as to do interviews with rabid liberal outfits like HuffPoo and taping Sunday interviews multiple times to drop these FU’s on Trump.

I have never known Boehner to undermine the party to the extent Ryan has. Boehner had loyalty to the GOP.Ryan’s loyalty is to Mrs. Clinton.

Check out GOP.com. Not one word about the presumptive nom. There is your “GOP loyalty” right there. Interestingly, I see on DNC.com that Trump is front and center on their home page.

Thanks for that info. It is slowly dawning on me that there is more at stake than simply Trump upsetting the UniParty apple-cart. I’m thinking of the six billion that went missing while Hillary was SoS. How many other billions have vanished? Who but a complete outsider AND savvy businessman like Trump could be a threat to this all but inconceivable level of corruption? How many of them fear prison? What would they not do to stop Trump?

I hope his security precautions continue to prevail.

After thought: the nearly trillion dollar stimulus package Obama authorized in his first year has been re-spent, with incremental increases, every single year he’s been in office. That’s a lot of cash. Where exactly did it all go?

Sweetheart, stop being a knee jerk retard...

Remember, you started by calling me a piss poor loser...so I will push back...

Why would I hate Trump, I plan to vote for him...

Do to your lack of reading comprehension skills, I will explain: I was only explaining why I think Ryan is acting the way he is...

It was an opinion on Ryan, not Trump, but for some reason only known to your little pea sized brain, you took it as I hate Trump...

Remember you started the name calling first...

As far as I am concerned Ryan can and should be be primaried out...

Ryan's not doing Trump, conservatives or the country any favors...

But go ahead and keep being a knee jerk reactionary...

It truly motivates me to go full bore Trump.../ S

Because, of course, that is the Golden Rule: do unto others as they have done to you.

Or, paraphrasing, ‘You go with name calling and insults, and you’ll get it right back.’

Ryan’s endorsement is a worthless as his fairy tale budgets.

I think it's meaningful to a lot of republicans who are sheepeople and don't trust Trump...

He’s been fragging Trump on a near daily basis lately in the press.

Yea, Ryan's been playing good cop, bad cop to try and keep the congressional House...

At least to me, it's as plain as day...

Ryan's first job is to keep the House...

Normally, I'm a very nice person. Try to keep and have civil discourse.

It does get tiresome being called names like "piss poor loser" out of the clear blue for only expressing an opinion, especially when I am being told I hate Trump when I actually I wasn't even talking about Trump...

After the Trump / Cruz war I decided I will push back hard on any one trying to continue that war...

I'm all for Trump...

Some people simply need to be bitch slapped to get them to back off..

Or, paraphrasing, ‘You go with name calling and insults, and you’ll get it right back.’

Where exactly did I call someone a name on that thread before Chogal posted......?

I was only referring to the part about the pea sized brain and the retard. Personally I wouldn’t care to be called sweetheart either, but it beats retard.

There’s been a lot of insulting and name calling over the past year. Now more than ever there is a need for salt and light. We can criticize what a person says—that’s fair game—without going after the person him or herself. It may seem a small distinction, but it’s not. A person’s value is not derived from their opinions, which may be way off base. A person’s value is derived from God—a fortunate circumstance for anyone who’s ever been mistaken or misguided.

No one ever won all branches of government going scorched earth. I’m smitten on what Trump is uncovering but at least one person needs to be even keeled. The electorate Trump needs ranges across (unfortunately) many ideologies. Therefore I am ok with what Trump is doing. What I’d like to see though is instead of a public working themselves up in a frothing dervish frenzy is to fix real issues starting with purging Washington. We need to focus on Hildebeast first not feed on each other. Primary him or move on otherwise bantering about it as we are does nothing

I can’t agree more...

I tempered my remarks by reminding her she started the name calling...

Being called a “piss poor loser” is rather personal...and uncalled for...as well as against the posting rules...

I’m simply not going to let a remark like that go unchallenged....

I have no problem with another poster criticizing a post I made, tell my why they think I was wrong or misinformed, but the name calling has got to stop...
