Haven’t read the other ones. This one caught me. He is referring to the districts Trump overwhelmingly lost so no, Trump supporters do not live in those districts and Popman is correct his job (political-wise) is to bridge both sides and ensure he can keep Congress by not losing those districts to D and eventually the entire house. It’s good to have one powerful scorched earth person (Trump) but not two. If you have two and not someone in the middle bridging the two (those in districts strong Trump and those in which Trump lost) then Congress is lost and real fast.
While I don’t trust Ryan he at least understands this part of politics
