Although NBC and CBS on Friday covered the “unprecedented,” “deep frustration” that diplomats at the State Department have for Barack Obama’s Syria policy, ABC’s Good Morning America allowed a scant 18 seconds to the move against Obama. This is despite allowing 14 minutes to a Demi Lovato rock concert, clearly not as important a topic.
Here is the total of GMA’s coverage on Friday from news anchor Amy Robach: “President Obama's policies in the Middle East coming under fire. This time from diplomats at the State Department. More than 50 diplomats have signed a memo urging the President to launch air strikes against Syrian dictator Bashar Al Assad, claiming there has been little progress in five years of war.”
GMA Allows 18 Seconds to Unprecedented Revolt Against Obamas Foreign Policy
In contrast, here’s how NBC’s Today covered it:
SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: Another big story in politics breaking this morning. Dozens of U.S. diplomats are breaking ranks with the President, calling for air strikes against the Syrian government. Richard Engel, NBC's chief foreign correspondent, is in Istanbul this morning. Richard, good morning. This seems quite remarkable to have such an open break with the President from his own administration.
Reporter Richard Engel explained, “I think it expresses the deep frustration that is even within the State Department about the current U.S. policy in Syria.” Engel underlined that it’s unusual “more than 50 mostly mid-level State Department employees choose to use this dissent channel to say they want a different policy.”
Over on CBS This Morning, Charlie Rose sounded a similar warning: “An unprecedented challenge against President Obama's Syria strategy.” Correspondent Margaret Brennan marveled, “It is rare to see dozens of American diplomats formally object to U.S. policy. But after five years of brutal war, some within the Obama administration have had enough and are calling for action.”
Specifically, here is what the State Department officials are calling for:
MARGARET BRENNAN: The 51 State Department officials who signed the classified internal memo argue that the U.S. should destroy Syrian dictator Bashar Al Assad's military might. The diplomats told CBS News that Assad has faced no consequence for his brutality. Continuing to ignore Assad while fighting ISIS is dragging out the five-year war, and they believe, is creating new extremists.
One would think this would be worth more of GMA’s time than a meager 18 seconds. But considering that show’s close ties to Hillary Clinton and co-host George Stephanopoulos's affinity for Barack Obama, it’s not surprising.
A transcript of the GMA brief is below:

This is the problem. Other than on FreeRepublic, none of the opposition to this regime is published or heard by the public.
Obama is going to hate it big time from now till his departure.
Why Not Admit the Obvious: The President Won't Blame Them because He Agrees with IS Them.
Fixed it.
“Obama is going to hate it big time from now till his departure.”
No he’s not. He will do what always has done, except now 10 folds. He will run rough shot over this nation, implement his agenda by any means possible and the American people will probably give him high marks for doing so.
Things are going to get much, much worse.
Ooops Wrong thread. Sorry.
On the other hand, it sorta fits here too.
because if he agrees to profile moslems to sort out the radicals he must agree to profile blacks to sort out criminals.
His failure to go after radical islam results from his protection of the black community from reality
it’s all about being black....... not moslem
Dear Stupid Diplomats :
This is a " PROXY WAR "
between the U.S. and Russia ,
which means we would be going to war with Russia.
Is that what you really want right now , with rainbow f ags ?
and under-equipped ?
Darned fat fingers can’t spell
whiloe what you say is going to happen, Trump and now others have gotten to him and he can’t stand it
he is Obama
I want to see President Trump break up the Media Cartel.
Once again, I’ll say that I’ll be surprised if we get to November and/or January without the Clown-in-Chief pulling something.
I’ll admit to tinfoil, as I often do.
He’s twisting the Orlando terrorist attack for political reasons; as always. None of us are surprised.
I agree, but i think it will be part of the "October Surprise"
where people react emotionally, rather than logically, prior to the vote.
THIS is what I meant to post in this thread:
...................................
Well, 0bama and his minions have been trying to replace all of the semi-secular leaders in all of the muslim countries with theocratic jihadis.
And the warmongering fools and profiteers on the GOPe side of the Senate are happy with any wars, any where.
But what really makes me angry is seeing so many supposedly sane and supposedly conservative pundits and peasants who think killing Assad is a good idea.
killing assad is a good idea because he is Iran east
with assad gone, the mullahs are contained
Assad is the last semi-secular leader in the middle east.
The last one who even attempts to protect Christians, Jews, and other non-muslims in his nation..
Yes, Assad is Shia, but as a member of the Alawite sect he is hated by the iranian mullahs almost as much as the Sunni. He is as much, maybe more, a buffer to the Iranian Mullah’s expansion as he is a conduit to him.
And if he is taken out, the void will be filled by the victor of the fight between those same Iranian Mullahs, ISIS, Al Qaeda groups or run of the mill Muslim Brotherhood Jihadis. Either way, Syria will become yet another Jihadi nation, exporting terror worldwide
You really want to go to war with Russia? Because if we do try to bomb Assad, we have to either slip past or take out Russian military to do it.
It is illegal for the USA to directly target a head of state. It would be a war crime and Obama would make himself a target. What is to stop Assad from using drone strikes on the white hut?
Wrong venue for a proxy war. Especially where we should have common interests. If anything, we should be working with the Russians in this specific case.
Those 50 idiots are pushing the wrong policy
Give them guns and send them over there to fight for the folks who will replace Assad... And see how long they keep their heads
Glad obama is ignoring them
