Following the mass shooting in Orlando, guns have again become a hot-button issue.
Nevada gun laws, along with open carry laws, allow people to carry a firearm almost anywhere they like. That might include the Las Vegas Strip, clubs and bars.
Its not just handguns. The law protects rifles and the like as well.
It covers everything. Ive never seen a reason to carry a rifle down the road, but if it became a prudent thing to do, I would do it, said David Stilwell, owner of Las Vegas Gun Butler.
Openly carrying firearms doesnt require a permit, and signs specifying they are not allowed mean very little.
It really carries no weight for a gun owner. It might tell gun owners, Hey, dont shop here. Your money might be going to the Brady Campaign (to Prevent Gun Violence), Stilwell said.
So where can you not bring a gun?
A school, a daycare - thats about it for open carry, Stilwell said.
Ari Freilich, an attorney for the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, said Nevada receives an F when it comes to gun safety.

Nonsense. Nothing 'again' about it, given the left's constant and fervent desire to disarm the populace.
Islam is and should be the hot-button issue, given the immediate and obvious threat they pose.
Let’s see if Nevadans are gullible enough to pass the “universal background check” initiative.
As long as it’s concealed, you can carry anywhere they don’t have metal detectors, right?
I have to go back and check the NV gun laws for out of staters. I thought only NV residence could open carry (or conceal carry) without a permit. Maybe someone update me.
Is my Indiana CCW good in Nevada? I also thought you couldn’t carry in Casinos? I know in Indiana, you have to check you firearm in in the casino. Though I have been told to just keep it concealed when I went to check it in (I don’t think they wanted to be responsible for it.).
Well, considering that ‘they’ got twice as many signatures on the petition required to get it on the ballot, I’m guessing my fellow Nevadans will pass it. Because there are a lot of lib ignos in Vegas which really determines what happens in the state. Promise of ZERO gun violence and and end to ALL domestic abuse cases. Sure. And I have an oasis for sale for ya too.
Well, you can carry anywhere you like if you don’t get busted. Well except for the Assembly house and the Senate. The guy at the counter at the entrance asked if I was carrying when we went to some hearings and said if so, there were lockers available and one couldn’t carry into the chambers and meeting rooms.
I’ve been carrying legally for many years. Very few places I don’t carry. No one has ever detected or mentioned it. That’s why they call it concealed. I try to avoid places that have the silly signs but I don’t let them stop me if I need to be there. It’s a personal choice. I know other people that have permits that rarely ever carry and usually when they do, they want others to know about it.
There are several good apps with all this info. I use CCW.
Remember THIS?
Funny how all 3 copies of the surveillance video disappeared, isn't it?
Every time a whacko muslim or Libtard goes on a murder spree the democrats scramble to climb up on the still warm bodies to push their anti-gun agenda.
how many mass shootings have they had in Nevada>
Yup. I quit costco-ing a long time ago.
Well they do have them shootin’ places around the state where ya can shoot full auto stuff, so ya never know.
Check OPENCARRY.Org for state’s laws concerning open carry and reciprocity between the various jurisdictions. It is a wealth of resources.
Yep. Pretty sad.
Sandoval is a horrible human being, so it depends on whether or not the Nevada legislature is comprised of a bunch of liberals.
“how many mass shootings have they had in Nevada?”
You mean aside from when a mass of police officers shoot someone?
Great for those who want to live in nevada.
