Mitt Romney blasted the Republican Party on Saturday for not doing more to stop presumptive nominee Donald Trump, saying that the prospects for the party are bleak.
During a discussion in Park City, Utah, where Romney is hosting his annual conservative summit, the 2012 presidential nominee singled out Trumps former rivals Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Gov. John Kasich (R-Ohio), the last two candidates to drop out of the race against Trump.
"Ted Cruz was basically praising Donald Trump through the whole process," Romney told discussion host and CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer. And Kasich was in well after the time there was no possible pathway to becoming the nominee."

"Seeing this is breaking my heart," he added of the future of the party.
Romney has intensified his attacks on Trump over the weekend during his annual retreat.
During another interview with Blitzer on Friday, Romney accused Trump of promoting trickle-down racism, misogyny and bigotry.

he loves to dispense what he thinks is brilliant analysis, coming from someone who ran such an abyssmal campaign and was a terrible candidate. Salut!
and the MSM continues to be so intent on featuring daily this non-entity
Mitt should not even think about running 3rd Party, we already have the 3 Party candidate and the Republican candidate all wrapped into one package. Pack it up Mitt, you screwed yourself.
Conservatives are for "country first" and that is the difference between Trump and all of the others that he ran against.
They may consider themselves "conservative" but they are all globalists and that does not bode well for the man on the street and, unfortunately for them, the man on the street is finally starting to realize it.
I seem to remember when W ran in 2000, he claimed he was NOT for NWO, but that was just another campaign lie.
Get over yourself, Loser.
We don’t care.
You certainly haven’t done to improve things.
Get out of the way and let a new tidal wave try to clean up the mess you and your cohorts have created.
Who cares Mr Romney! We finely have a candidate who has a spine. The left has had a free right for to long and the GOP never pushes back. The left says Boo and the GOP jumps. The left and right had little if no difference between them. Not this time!
Man, he’s like a GOP-e Gollum, freaking out over Donald Trump having his “precious.”
Pinkbell, your response to that article was absolutely outstanding.
globalist and gayist
What is Romney talking about?
The GOP became extinct several generations ago. Romney is mistaking the GOPe for the extinct GOP.
It’s sad that the Romneycrats got sucked into the lynch mob.
The only racist here is the racist Laraza judge.
Nobody asked you to stay, Mitt. Go to a place you feel warm and fuzzy!
This is a site for ladies and gentlemen, patriots all.
I’m sorry, but your post is way over the line.
Leading the party off a cliff in 2012 didn’t break his heart at all — because it was his goal. It still is. Mittwit alert.

Awe............ mittens dreams of being were dashed again, just think this load would have been our president
Hey Mitt -
It’s breaking my heart that I ever voted for you.
Don’t worry, it won’t happen again.
Nor will I EVER vote for any of your comrades.
At least we finally know what you and your GOPe associates really are.
Romney should just off himself and do the whole world a favor.
What a colossal a$$hole.
We can be pretty sure he intentionally lost last time.
>>Cruz was holding his own against Trump right up until he started taking advice from the GOP on machine gunning Trump, with Foam boy on the other flank.<<
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is so true. Let’s hope Mitt can do the same thing for Hillary as he did for the other candidates whom he has backed so far.
Actually, he lost a lot of votes in 2012 because he came across as a pompous, self-absorbed, globalist ass with absolutely no ties to the middle class. Maybe those independents who were repulsed by Mitt can benefit from his current antics to fully comprehend how different Trump is . . . and will hop on the Trump train.
