Even as he contends that Trump has a right to challenge Judge Curiel, Alberto Gonzalez writes "Curiel is, reportedly, a member of a group called La Raza Lawyers of San Diego. Trump’s aides, meanwhile, have indicated that they believe Curiel is a member of the National Council of La Raza, a vocal advocacy organization that has vigorously condemned Trump and his views on immigration. The two groups are unaffiliated, and Curiel is not a member of NCLR."
HOWEVER:
La Raza Lawyers of California is most definitely affiliated with La Raza.
He's a member of the La Raza Lawyers of California aka the Latino Bar Association of California.

A judge being a member of a La Raza Attorney Association the partners and promotes the La Raza organization on their website is as offensive as a judge who is a member of a KKK Attorney Association with the KKK organization promoted on their website.
Trump is right.
Once again - Trump ain’t stupid - he wouldn’t have risked alienating the judge in his case unless he had good reason to believe that the judge was already biased against him.
Megyn Kelly says they aren’t.
The way Trump unpacked this whole thing in the Jake Tapper interview was very, very interesting to note because he never mentioned “LA RAZA” by name... he said something like “the judge is part of a particular society” that would be unfair to his case (I’m paraphrasing, but if you watch the interview you’ll hear and see).
So Trump is framing this in this manner to get everyone talking about it. The dense liberals who watched the interview are thinking he’s just being a racist, but it’s obviously an issue of conflict of interest - something lawyers and judges and jurists deal with every single day. I think Trump’s lawyers actually WANT to judge on the case so they can use this guy’s conflict of interest in a counter-suit should the case go to the plaintiff. Meanwhile you have this Clinton-affiliated lawyer involved, so Hillary’s dirty fingerprints are all over this BS - obviously !
