Fact is the extreme green-gay leftism of Sattle did it. Property values skyrocketed close to the city center and wealthy gays moved in, desiring the urban lifestyle...upscale.

Blacks there are seeing what middle class whites have for many years...but they’ve got enough cache with the left wing press to get a sob article. It really helps to get sympathy when you vote Democrat.

I would say so. A little web searching (no, I won't provide links but it was pretty simple) and the King County property records show that her house and land are appraised at $681,000.

According to the Ray Charles biopic, ‘Ray’ there was a vibrant African American music scene in Seattle BITD.

Jimi Hendrix was a black man, born in Seattle in 1942. He never once complained about segregation or racism, when discussing his childhood there.

There's a photo of him in a school class picture from the 50s. He's one of maybe two black kids in the whole class. Looks like a happy kid to me.

Geez, this article wins some kind of victim-compression algorithmic process award.

But, whether we think of it or want to think of it or not, Seattle in particular was a viciously segregated city and area, in no small part because Mr. Boeing created the racially restricted covenants and embedded them into the deeding of the property he transferred to the city of Seattle. These are not tall tales, and the effects in very large part extended into the mid 50’s.

I went to Manual Arts High is Los Angeles in the 80’s. It was overwhelmingly black back then. Now, it’s overwhelmingly Hispanic. This happens everywhere. Immigration (legal and illegal) is changing the face of most big cities in America.

Demographic data show that cities like Renton, SeaTac, Tukwila, Kent and Federal Way have higher percentages of blacks than Seattle’s 7.9 percent.

No coincidence that FBI stats reveal that Tukwila is now the most dangerous city in America.

What an odd article.

This article is essentially a complaint about a neighborhood that is being renewed, desegregating with the property values going up, lamenting that the neighborhood is becoming multi-racial (too white?) and losing its sense of community.

Hmm, where have I heard this before? Oh yea, back in the ‘70s when the coin of the realm was flipped onto the other side. Welcome to the bad old days, CD, flipped 180 degrees around.

If I were her, I’d sell and take the windfall. I’d take the profit and move to a much less expensive town perhaps in the Carolinas. Or even just outside the CD, where the covenants are no longer valid.

Whites move into a black neighborhood, crime goes down, property values go up. Schools improve. The horror of being black in America.
