Donald Trump will meet Monday with Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, whom key Republicans consider a possible running mate for the presumptive nominee.
The pair is scheduled to meet at Trump Tower in New York City, The Washington Post reports, citing sources who asked not to be named.
Corker, 63, is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He is the former mayor of Chattanooga and was first elected to Congress in 2006.
He has had a key role in many foreign policy issues involving the Obama administration, including the Iran nuclear deal.

Please God no.
I would never add a current Rep or Senator to the ticket...they're not needed for him to get the job done.
Oh, please. In 4 weeks Trump named a prominent pro-life adviser, a key ant-”global warming” guy as energy adviser, and named his top 10 superb conservative USSC pick, and you’re worried about this?
I keep saying, historically veep is the place you put a guy you want to neuter. Yes, we have had 6 presidential deaths since 1865. Three of the beeps were improvements (Truman, Coolidge, Arthur), TR was a wash, LBJ and Johnson were disasters. So the historical record is one generally of removing political obstacles.
I don’t want Corker-—we will win TN without him, he can’t advise Trump, and squaring some of his positions with Trump on the campaign trail will be hard-—but I would much rather take him OUT of the senate than someone like Sessions, whom we need there. And finally, as tie-breaker he would have to vote Trump’s way.
But I don’t see him adding except by subtraction.
As an OH resident, I find following his newsletters interesting. He really does a lot of stuff that doesn't get publicity.
get real trump not this guy....hes the worst
Is this April the 1st?
“Iiiiiiiiii-dentintical!”
he needs to pick somebody solid but also somebody who would appeal to women, to young people, to latinos, etc...
May not be any better, however, why would he want a VP from Tennessee? Usually it is a swing state...then again, he is not cut from the past mold.
Conservative, speaks clearly and concise...and attractive, too.
Not another Senator please.
I bet this is a “balloon floating”.
It is true that TRUMP must be considering his real need for a competent legislative maneuverer, who knows the ropes on the Hill. He has said as much.
TRUMP also could use a foreign policy expert who knows how to unravel that Iranian give away deal and how the hell it happened.
I can see that Corker’s name would come up, and like Sessions, Corker has no real enemies among his colleagues, but kept his head down and did what was possible to slow Obama.
We need to study him a minute for his North American Union tendencies, which is a virus that is epidemic, on the Hill.
TRUMP does NOT appear in any way or word to be sympathetic to the NA Union, and seems revolted by the European model.
I can hold my fire, but not for very long, until Corker climbs back down from the Corker Bill that Cruz glommed onto.
Just sayin’.
Wah wah wahhhhh
PS: This may be a Jeff Sessions recommendation for all I know. What do you think?
Sessions seems to know who is a trust mate and who was not, in the Senate. He was fast enough to drop Cruz on his head.
Thankfully, Jeff’s guidance and opinions seem to mean something to TRUMP.
Corker is a dick
(Does that officially count as "damning with faint praise"?)
“Geez people. Read the article. Nowhere does it say Trump is considering him. It says Republicans see him as a potential VP, not Trump. FReepers are so reactionary at times.”
LOL! You see it in all of the VP speculation threads.
Everyone takes them as if it is straight from Trump himself, and then proceeds to emote all over their keyboard.
People that on-edge need to get out and enjoy the warm weather.
After the firestorm of the past 6 months, I’m enjoying the spring, catching up on hobbies, and only checking FR maybe 3 times a day.
Heck even Cruz is on vacation!
Corker is a sucker.
Trump had better realize that his supporters are realllly serious about some issues and will bolt if he betrays them. Iran sellout is one. Immigration and globalism and corpratism another.
I will also remind him that America will be great again when America becomes good again. Abortion and strengthening families is another paramount issue.
