Donald Trump will meet Monday with Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, whom key Republicans consider a possible running mate for the presumptive nominee.
The pair is scheduled to meet at Trump Tower in New York City, The Washington Post reports, citing sources who asked not to be named.
Corker, 63, is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He is the former mayor of Chattanooga and was first elected to Congress in 2006.
He has had a key role in many foreign policy issues involving the Obama administration, including the Iran nuclear deal.

If that's who Trump's aligning with inside what's left of the GOP, count me out.
Not Corker, there are many much better choices.
There are few VP choices that would make me rethink my support of Trump and Corker is one of them.
Corker’s part of the problem. He’s a RINO!
Corker adds absolutely nothing to the ticket. He reminds me of the public defender in My Cousin Vinnie. The only reason you’d put this guy on the ticket is if you wanted your VP to fade into the background. I call BS.
I’m betting he’s interested in learning more about the Iran deal so he can reference it in more detail in speeches and in debate.
Trump doesn’t align with anyone. Corker is the one going to Trump Tower. Probably needs money to pay for his reelection.
Miss Vito cleaned his clock.......
Geez people. Read the article. Nowhere does it say Trump is considering him. It says Republicans see him as a potential VP, not Trump. FReepers are so reactionary at times.
more BS speculation and ppl needlessly getting angry over nothing
Corker is only marginally to the right of pantywaist Lamar Alexander. If this story is true it’s not a welcome sign. Of course, it could be no more than a head fake by the Trump campaign to win over some of the mushy middle-to-left of center Republicans.
After the Corker bill, this better be just the rumor for the day.
Corker is the WORST.
I suspect that this is just Trump playing the media, again.
One of the greatest pro wrestling managers, Bobby Heenan, said he had the easiest job in showbiz. If he wanted the audience to quiet diwn, he’d ask them to cheer. If he wanted them to make noise, he’d tell them to quiet down.
Trump knows media, news, news culture and popular culture. Contrast that with just about every Republican on the national scene, who are almost completely clueless about all of the above.
It’s a long time coming.
This is the guy who sold the Iran deal to Congress.
I am not a Trump supporter, but I was not going to vote third party, either. If Trump picks Corker or another Establishment trader, I will vote Libertarian.
DJT is a genius strategist.
I suspect he will not compromise his ultimate conservative principles and goals, while at the same time, employing his brilliant strategy to obtain his immediate goal of unifying the party.
I plan on chilling out and watching him at work, for US.
Corker is a Mid-South version of that worthless Texas Tick Turd, John Cornyn! Only difference is that he’s shorter!
The major credential of all VP’s going as far back as I can remember is their foreign policy experience.
Picking a junior senator from a swing state won’t do Trump any good. Picking a young latina won’t do any good either. Pandering never works. Corker is a sell out and I don’t like him. But he helps the ticket. He has no principles and will do whatever Trump tells him to do.
Corker probably doesn’t know the correct ignition timing on a 1955 Bel Air either. :p
Corker is the one who sold the fake Iran deal to the Congress. He’s a traitor. If Teump appoints Corker as VP, he will reignite the Never Trump movement with a different base. This time the Never Trump movement will be all Conservative.
Vinnie was the defense counsel. The guy that Miss Vito smacked down was the prosecutor.
