The carrier hosted more than 2,000 family members and friends to demonstrate the ship's capabilities. The helicopter is assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 73.

BEACH ASSAULT

U.S. Marines practice an amphibious assault in amphibious vehicles during Talisman Sabre 2015 at Fog Bay, Australia, July 8, 2015. The biennial exercise enables nearly 30,000 U.S. and Australian defense forces to conduct operations to increase their ability to plan and execute operations from combat missions to humanitarian assistance efforts. The Marines are assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Regiment.

SABRE SUNSET

The guided-missile destroyer USS Preble is underway to participate in exercise Talisman Sabre 2015 in the Timor Sea, July 6, 2015. The bilateral training exercise help to maintain a high level of interoperability between U.S. and Australian forces.
