The top ranks of the Republican Party may be coalescing around Donald Trump, but grass-roots conservative activists are still trying to find a way to stop him at the party's convention in July.
Angered by Trump's shifting views on taxes, the minimum wage, national security and how little he discusses social issues, conservatives across the country are studying the party rule book for last-ditch moves they could make when the convention begins in Cleveland.

It doesn’t work that way. If you signed to be a delegate, you swore to do the job. They have alternates and will be replaced. Besides NeverTrump OPP Pac has spent MILLIONs to entice delegates for Ted Cruz.
Legally they can provide free airfare, hotel suites, limos, luxury meals, entertainment, booze, you name it! It will be one heck of a time. Money is no object for Cruz delegates.
Don’t kid yourself: Obtaining & Sponsoring Delegates is the primary objective of OPP (Katie Packer- Rickards Family- Chicago Cubs owner) for Cruz.
The GOPe wins, when we lose. Trump needs to roll over these scumbags, and run them from office in future election cycles.
By that time Trump will be up 6 points so let them try.
Exactly, they see that in a state with millions of voters, they can cancel the primary, hold a cheating charade caucus and pick whomever they like.
Trump has a lot of people looking out for him and he needs to be a step ahead of them.
These people will not stop need to be watched for the next eight years. They might as well be RATS.
There are 2 delegates from each state/territory on the rules committee, so over 100 in total.
I don’t think the first 10 months should count.
I say it took him like 2 weeks.
Either way I applaud him for doing it and I pray he has great security.
What’s also historic about the Trump candidacy is the level of opposition against him. He only has 41% of the primary vote currently. He’s the only GOP candidate besides McCain since at least the ‘70s to get under 50% and he’s running 5 points under McCain currently.
I believe the entire RNC delegation has to vote on the rules changes that are proposed by the committee.
Since Hildabeast is a carpet muncher I bet she is doubly pissed about this.
I would love to ask horse face Chestless Hubbel what she thinks of this.
Thank goodness conservatives are still putting pressure on Trump. Simply handing him the reins of power without making him pledge to support conservative policies first would be a bad strategy. Getting the list of his picks for judges on the record is a victory for Trump’s conservative critics.
Are they being paid off by rich Hillary supporters?
Don’t think such would be impossible.

Jedi, that’s the RNC rules committee that met at the RNC spring convention and made no suggestions. Although Curly was there, and he sure as hell tried to rile people into voting.
This is a smaller committee that only handles the convention.
So far I only see 8 states and the 16.
Ha, that’s so funny. No one ever ran against 16 candidates. Trump is on track to set the record for the most votes ever earned in the primary election. He’s already surpassed all of them, but Bush.
They are not “putting pressure” on Trump, they are trying to stab him in the back to make the way clear for Hillary.
I don’t think so. This article describes the 112-member rules committee as being for the convention.
