Ben Carson--who the Washington Post called the both best and worst campaign surrogate of all time--revealed that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, among many others, is on Donald Trump's shortlist for potential running mates.
[...]He had just explained to the reporter riding along that he wanted no role in a Trump administration when news arrived of a new poll naming him as the best liked of a list of potential running mates. Who else was on the list? he asked quietly, maintaining his usual inscrutable calm. The most favorably regarded contenders after himself, he was told, were John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin and Chris Christie. Those are all people on our list, he said. Well, not you, Candy reminded him sharply. That the Trump

Trump has had a lot of media saying he is not Presidential and Sarah has had the same tag “not sophisticated enough”. Both together would not help Trump. IMHO If he picked Newt, I think Newt would bring a solid person with experience and would help Trump. Newt being considered the adult in the room. I think a Trump/Sarah ticket would be laughed at.
At first, but then Trump himself was laughed at, and we see how that went.
Frankly, Sarah Palin is the only "Western US" woman I can think of that has the "pizzazz" Trump would no doubt look for in a running mate.
Called it..!
And yes, they would get laughed at - by the left, the MSM, SNL, you name it. . and then their numbers would go up because the left would overdo it. Just like every time some lefty said, "Well, that's it for Trump" or "He's reached his ceiling", "He didn't win the debate", etc, his numbers then went up. I think in a lot of respects Trump is seen as the underdog outsider, the "Rocky" if you will, and every time he's knocked to the mat, he gets back up and the crowd cheers.
Sarah Palin has gone 15 rounds and is still standing. . The mad out here is palpable and I think if they attack the Mama Grizzly it will be different this time.
Part of me just wants Trump to Fight and say to hell with it, I'm picking Sarah! Almost part of his Patton thing. .
I love Gov. Palin and I hope that President Trump puts her in charge of something she can fix - but not as VP. Too much media distraction would result, and too many people have bought into the false narrative that she is a decorative idiot (how did feminists sit still for the media essentially labeling her a “bimbo”?).
I think Trump is looking at Palin for Energy Sec.
I maintain that Trump can win regardless who he picks for VP, so why not pick someone that will make liberal heads explode?
John McCain, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Paul Ryan, Lindsey Graham...
Sarah has taken herself out of consideration. But it is for Trump to decide and my money is on Newt. However Sarah will have a role to play in a Trump administration.
It's the old Nixon adage... "Confound your enemy".
She endorsed Rubio in the NM primary. That was more than enough for me to write her off as yet another GOP establishment type posing as a conservative.
I also read a story where she went crazy after getting drunk and was throwing glass bottles off a hotel balcony. Police have confirmed as much and I believe there is some damning audio. In addition, she made a fake drunken 911 call. Just Google Susana Martinez drunk and you’ll find all you need.
She’ll be Palin-ed on day one.
Trump and Palin are going to make America great again!
Since when is Sarah Palin not on the FReeper shortlist?
Susan Martinez calls Trump’s remarks offensive, and was particularly offended by his suggestion of having Mexico pay for the wall, so it’s doubtful that her name will not be making an appearance on his shortlist anytime soon.
Did you read my entire comment?? I said I didn’t think Sarah would put her family through the torture of another campaign. However, you apparently think she should regardless.
My view of her still remains; she would be an excellent President even. Her love and concern for her family is (I believe) most important after God in her heart. She would not want to subject them again to a vicious media scrutiny, and I admire her greatly for this.
