Ben Carson--who the Washington Post called the both best and worst campaign surrogate of all time--revealed that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, among many others, is on Donald Trump's shortlist for potential running mates.
[...]He had just explained to the reporter riding along that he wanted no role in a Trump administration when news arrived of a new poll naming him as the best liked of a list of potential running mates. Who else was on the list? he asked quietly, maintaining his usual inscrutable calm. The most favorably regarded contenders after himself, he was told, were John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin and Chris Christie. Those are all people on our list, he said. Well, not you, Candy reminded him sharply. That the Trump

I hope not.
NO!
I really like Palin, but she comes with way too much baggage. I hope she’s not on the short list.
I’m betting Trump is just floating that name to make the libs go ape sh*t...
Yessss..!!!
If the media hates her its a SELLING POINT.
Libs, and the GOPe types who gave you McCain (watch them try and claim that she’s unqualified!)
Why not? She’s as good as many and better than most.
If being done to help Bogart the news cycle and manipulate the media, no problem.
[I hope not.]
Doubtful. Trump doesn’t show his hand like that. I would imagine he has Carson on the VP “search committee” because he knew leaks would get out, and he probably planned it that way to keep the media chasing its tail.
I would imagine the veep selection process is an air tight, closely secretive process, probably between Trump and Gingrich, maybe Manafort as well.
I don't get the hysterical PDS™ of some conservatives.
It's like they've actually bought into the left wing smears against Sarah Palin, and are willing to let them dictate Trump's VP choice.
Vote Trump
There’s no possible way Trump would select Sarah Palin as VP but stating that she is a possibility is a sure way to dominate news cycles and get inside the heads of a lot of people.
I think Sarah could add a lot to the campaign. But, the leftist press recognized her political potential and therefore they smeared her public image a lot. It is unfair, of course. But, would she still be a wise choice for Mr. Trump?
I doubt it. Palin is damaged goods
Was that based on what Ben Carson reported?
My wife says the same thing about Gingrich.
Sarah’s husband was in a serious accident, and has a long recovery ahead of him. She might take herself out of consideration just due to this.
On the other hand, after the election, could Sarah be appointed to Trump’s cabinet, or a high level adviser???
Doesn’t seem to fit his criteria . . . familiarity and ability to work with Congress.
