GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump referred to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (d-ma) as "Pocahontas" in an interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, she wrote in a piece published Saturday.
Trump told Dowd that he had not been asked by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) in his meeting with him last week to tone down his rhetoric directed at women.
Dowd also asked him if he had been criticized by Republicans for his Twitter feud with Warren.
"You mean Pocahontas? Trump shot back.
Trump and Warren have engaged in a long battle on Twitter, trading barbs over his rhetoric toward women and her Native American heritage.

Has anyone actually heard the alleged interview?
I’d like to hear him issue a public denial. “I did not call her ‘Pocahontas!’ I resent this false accusation. I called her ‘Faux-cahontas.”

a great one!
Elizabeth Warren could be the first trans-racial candidate.
Liz identifies as a Native American.
Trump told Dowd that he had not been asked by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) in his meeting with him last week to tone down his rhetoric directed at women. It's not directed at "women", ya two-bit media shill -- it's directed at Fauxahontas, the phony fake fraud from Massachusetts.
We’ll see. Lib women will stay in their safe rooms when it’s time to vote. But white men, married women, Republican women, independents, some blacks may make up for it. We’ll see.
White men loathe Hillary.
Maureen Dowd did the interview, where are the CZJ pics?
Great points. Send that to Team Trump!
OF course he knows that, but if he used that term he’d be in trouble with Faux News again
No she won't. No woman has ever been president. Putting two women on the same ticket would be suicide. I hope they do it but not a chance in Hades.
GOPe members are concerned this will cost Trump the fake squaw vote; demand that he moderate his tone.
Complete dumb ass corrupt lying girl power ticket.
Oh boy!
Liawatha
Oh NO; HOW oh HOW can I ever vote for Trump now?
Faux-cahontas would have been better, or even Lie-a-watha, but I’ll settle for this. A
Thanks. I don’t know how to post pics, but I know the rule on any thread where Maureen Dowd gets a mention.
Few people get how Trump is using the media, over and over, to generate buzz and interest. I am not sure how much of it is on purpose and how much just slips out of his glib mouth. But it’s my belief and observation that it’s astoundingly effective. It isn’t any of his doing that the media grant him the stage; it isn’t Trump that set up the Carlos Slim-owned NYT nor Amazon hit squads. It isn’t his doing that the likes of Debbie Shultzerman has developed the ability to speak through her nostrils to try to trash him. And it isn’t his doing that Clinton can fly Air Perv to Epstein’s private island 26 times. Die he rape women or bite them on the lip or drop his pants and order them to fellate him?
There are perhaps 18 people who will shift their vote away from Trump over this. Nobody has not heard it before. It’s equivalently likely that 1800 people will shift votes to him for his outspokenness, reckless or not. Does his recklessness outweigh HRC’s recklessness placing national security information on her server? What if it isn’t mere recklessness but is part of a scheme to bypass FOIA law, grift foreign governments in exchange for favorable arms and trade approvals. Like anyone with a brain can see plain as day.
The fourth-grade playground dirtbomb exchange is not something that is going to hurt Trump.
Folks who are offended by it, won’t vote for a Republican, period, much less Trump.
“Putting two women on the same ticket would be suicide.”
It was leaked that Hillary already decided to pick Warren.
It might be the only way to get Bernie supporters to vote Hillary...
