Hippies in the ‘60s used to make milk shakes in blenders with blue morning glory seeds — and get sick and sometimes die from them. This is an old fad come around again.

Hippies in the 60s used to make milk shakes in blenders with blue morning glory seeds...I remember the rumor started about scraping the inside of banana peels, baking the residue in the oven, then rolling it in Zig Zags.
The local Hoggly Woggly sold out of bananas about three times in a row before the wackos figured out that it was just another rumor.
But there were those that insisted it was the best high they had ever had.
Power of suggestion.

“This is an old fad come around again.”
I knew some peeps back in the 60s that did them.

This is an old fad come around again. Back then, the government wouldn't have even considered banning ordinary flower seeds, but just wait...

To think I go out and kill morning glories off the fence every year. I could have been a millionaire seed dealer by now.

True, it’s not new.
Seed companies started adding something like Ipecac to the seeds to make people throw up from eating them
Of course scrapings from the inside of banana peels were dried and smoked back in the day, some even smoked spider webs.
Lids (oz) of alfalfa were sold for the going price (10 bucks) for pot to neophytes.
