The Obama administration's directive Friday that every public school provide transgender access -- or face the loss of federal funds -- drew swift and strong condemnation from conservatives, with one public official blasting it as presidential "blackmail." The administration’s directive -- citing Title IX in telling schools to give transgender students access to all activities and facilities consistent with their gender identity -- effectively touched off a national debate that could well extend into the next president's term and reverberate through the courts.
Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, speaking to reporters Friday, said his state "will not yield to blackmail from the president of the United States." "This goes against the values of so many people," he added. "This has everything to do with keeping the federal government out of local issues." Patrick -- underscoring the impact of a growing debate that has centered on who should or should not use gender-specific bathrooms, but could extend well beyond that -- called this the "biggest issue facing families and schools in America since prayer was taken out of public schools." The guidance could open a Pandora's box of related issues, from whether colleges would be forced to consider gender identity in student housing assignments to how administrators handle preferences for sports teams and locker rooms, and more.

Agreed on the wedge issue... and also I think they see it as a better topic to fill the headlines with instead of ISIS, the economy, Hillary's crimes, etc.
My sister had a different bathroom situation at her work.
She said it was a transgender who was a woman but dressed and looked like a man and she was very very upset about it.
She told me she asked another worker about it.
I told her, especially as a long time top administrative secretary “you better keep your mouth shut, you will lose your job.”
rather than debate bathrooms, the topic should be is obama fit tho live?
Because Obama is racially conflicted, he hates whites, Christians and good old American traditional values, so for him this is just another opportunity to stick his thumb in our collective eye...what a conniving bastard!
A big part of this is a consequence of letting queers, homos, and CSs identify as “gay” and get homowood to promote the new language for the general population.
Patrick also said The State of Texas will ignore Obama on this. And on the subject of threatening to withhold federal funds for states that don’t comply he said Obama can keep his thirty pieces of silver.

Boy, I bet the private schools are salivating over this...can you imagine the recruiting campaign? Also, homeschooling...so glad my daughter homeschools her kids.

Not only have the states never amended the Constitution to expressly protect LGBT agenda issues, but patriots need to wise up to the major constitutional problem that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to tax and spend for most of the domestic spending programs that they are now taxing and spending for, INTRAstate schooling in this example.

In other words, state sovereignty-ignoring Congress is letting the lawless Obama Administration get away with blackmailing the states with the threat of loss of funding that corrupt Congress stole from the states by means of unconstitutonal federal taxes, taxes that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers imo.
Remember in November !
When patriots elect Trump, they also need to elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to not only support Trump, but also put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes and likewise unconstitutional interference in state affairs.
Also consider that such a Congress would probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.
Local law enforcement ought to split the feds skulls if they resist and toss them in the county jail.
I doubt McConnell and Ryan even bother to speak about this latest edict from el-presidente’ much less attempt to stop this foolishness.
This is yet more social norm disruptive measures to put a wrench-in-the-works of culture and society.
Also, this gets us red-listed conservatives used to unisex toilets & showers at our temporary Camp FEMA “homes”, where we can check out any time we want, but we can never leave...
