Thursday on MSNBC, while discussing Speaker of the House Rep. Paul Ryans (R-WI) meeting with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, Bill Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, told members of the Republican Party that reunifying the party would mean capitulation.

Trump is not the ideal candidate for our side, but we'll gain more yardage with him than we will with Hillary. Hillary will just be an extension of Obama and look what that has given us: millions of workers leaving the labor pool permanently, a shrinking middle class, family income down year after year, a flood of illegal immigrants, jobs leaving the country in droves, a middle east in flames and a dead Ambassador in Libya, perverts using restrooms our wives and daughters use. Does Kristol or any other of the party elites really want more of that?
As much as they capitulate to Democrats they should be used to it by now.
The old-guard GOP has no clue what’s happening across America. Kristol is a fool.
Idiocy.
Trump won.
It is up to ‘Pubbies to decide if they want to support him or go outside the party.
In my case, I guess I’ll hold my nose and vote for him. After all, if I was willing to do the same for McQueeg and Romney...
True. But his "capitulation" argument is basically correct. We and the GOP have to follow the lead of the nominee, in public at least if not in private.
I'm still a Cruz fan but I've "capitulated". I'm going to vote for Trump. The alternative is President Hillary. I've got plenty of "capitulation" still left in my back pocket if I need it to avoid the certain destruction of our culture and the rule of law that would result from a Hillary Presidency.
Surely the "pathetic" Bill Kristol will eventually figure that out and do a needed course correction.
Or maybe he won't.
I have no problem holding my nose and voting for Trump, while still strongly opposing a couple of his really bad ideas, in order to keep Hillary or Bernie out.
He got that right.
This is a republic, but at some point it is customary for the voters to have the final word. Worst possible system except for all the rest.
In the past several election cycles, conservatives have capitulated to the establishment, and this anus believes that’s just freaking peachy.
Buttheads like this are the reason I am so danged fed up with the party.
What he really means is the neocon/open borders hold on the GOP is breaking
Kristol is still apparently angling to run a 3rd-party alternative candidate:

He’s scraping for any way he can to deprive the voters of what they willed.
Even if Trump is a 100% fake, he has provided us a useful service, he has pulled aside the curtain exposing the men manipulation the control.
Many of us assumed that there was a difference in philosophy between the Democrats and Republican (and on the surface there is) but behind the scene, where the real power is, the two side agree with each other.
We have a representative form of government and for the past few decades it has become clear that we have been manipulated to accept changes in our nation and our culture when we do not want those changes.
Bad things happen when leaders stray to far from the will of the people.
Geh kakken afin yam, Kristol.
I’m still a Cruz fan but I’ve “capitulated”. I’m going to vote for Trump. The alternative is President Hillary.
*******
Just a minor point, but I think capitulation is a poor choice of words. Had Trump lost to Cruz I would have immediately chosen him over Hillary without the need for a qualifying word.
The Uniparties Republican house engine is coughing up smoke. Well I’ll be....
And it means a great big fat FU to you, Billy.
