As Donald Trump held closed-door meetings Thursday with top Republican leaders, Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois cautioned that the presumptive GOP presidential nominee's "radical" and "extreme" positions will pose a challenge for Republican candidates in Illinois, including U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk.
Kirk, who is up for re-election, has said he will support his party's presidential nominee — even if it is Trump — but will not attend the GOP's national convention in Cleveland in July.
Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner, who is not on the ballot in November, said he will not attend the party's presidential nominating convention — nor will he endorse Trump.
Lately Kirk, the junior senator from Illinois who is running against Rep. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., in the Nov. 8 election, has ducked reporters' questions about the business mogul and former reality TV star who is expected to be the GOP standard bearer.

I love it when Democrats give advice on how Republicans can win elections.

Its a no-brainer. You either want to defeat Clinton or you don’t. You are either Anti-Left or you are not. Focus on Clinton and the Left ... and leave out endorsement (or not) of Trump. Geesh, do we have to help these people with everything?
Turban Durbin has reason to be worried. He might himself on a no-fly list or something.

There was an interesting remark on CNN tonight, that both Bernie and Trump are like “small D” democrats. It would e fascinating if the press was less hostile toward Trump, rather than treating him as a member of the GOP.
Kirk needs to go anyhow.
I actively like Trump and many of his policy positions. I don’t want republicans that won’t endorse him.
Dick Durbin needs to be zotted like our own former local resident ‘durbin’.
With Trump being the nominee (I know it’s not final, but really, it is) if you don’t favor Trump, you then favor Hillary...That’s all there is to it....

Trump will make AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
If the candidates support Trump, the Dems are going to run attack ads with them and Trump in it and then the Republicans will cave.
If the candidates denounce Trump, the base will not vote for that particular Republican and then the Dem will win by default.
My advice to Republican candidates is to fully embrace Trump and tell the opposition to go to Hell.
Trump’s positions are more conservative than 99% of the “conservatives” not supporting him and that includes Pee Wee Herman Ryan.
