On May 9 — less than two years since universal background checks were hoisted onto the backs of law-abiding citizens in Washington state — Gabby Giffords was in the state campaigning for special protective orders that will allow firearm confiscation.
The orders — “Extreme Risk Protection Orders” — would be similar to California’s Gun Violence Restraining Orders, inasmuch as they would allow “family or household members” to petition a judge to order the temporary confiscation of firearms from another family member or person living in the household.

Its sad to see how she is being used by the liberals. She had a horrible ordeal and is lucky to be alive. But it sickens me how liberals use that status to push gun control.

Considering what happened to this woman, I think it’s inappropriate that she be taken seriously as a gun control advocate insofar as actual policy is concerned. She’s not going to have a detached, rational perspective on the issue.

If a dramatic increase in gun violence in Democrat controlled inner city and urban areas is her goal, then she is spot on. ONLY law abiding citizens will ever be disarmed by any such law or policy, it is the obvious and inherent reality regarding this kind of thinking.
The result will always be... criminal predators and terrorist, who have no desire or compulsion to obey any such new confiscatory gun laws, will largely be the only armed players, other than the Police State itself. Sheer idiocy.
I think someone should petition a judge to pick up all guns in Gabby’s household, after all: since she got plugged in the brain, she can’t have total use of all of her faculties.
