You may not have heard of Julian Castro, currently Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, but you will. Hillary Clinton has him very near the top of her list for the veep slot on her ticket. It makes sense: he’s Hispanic, hard left, and the product of an elite education (Stanford, Harvard Law). So serious is the possibility that Page Six reports of him (and his brother Joaquin):
“Surprisingly, they don’t speak Spanish,” one insider told me. “They are cramming with Rosetta Stone.” (A spokesman for Julián denies he is studying Spanish.)
Julian was Mayor of San Antonio before he became Secretary of HUD, which makes him a highly experienced chief executive, adding to his veep luster, especially since Hillary is not exactly in the prime of health. His presence on the Dem ticket could really drive Hispanic turnout.

With a huge vote in San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Austin, and the Rio Grande Valley, he may be able to swing TX to “the democracy”, as it was called in the days of Andrew Jackson.

I think that they can be, although traditionally, for political purposes, they usually aren't. But Cuomo seems likely to be indicted even before Hillary is.

He should scare you....when Julian was running for mayor of San Antonio, he was suppose to attend some function, but instead he sent his identical twin brother Joaquin to “fill in for him”. I don’t remember if Julian just didn’t feel like going or he has something else to do but, when it got out that Joaquin had subbed for his “honorable brother who was running for mayor”, it caused one heck of a stink here in San Antonio, Texas. So that should tell you what kind of a person Julian is.
