Ryan never expected Trump to lock up the nomination so quickly. He didn't think Texas Sen. Ted Cruz would drop out of the race in May. In fact, Ryan's orbit was preparing for a contested convention in Cleveland, where he is slated to serve as chairman, effectively the emcee of the Trump coronation.

I think conservatives want to know, does he share our values and our principles on limited government, the proper role of the executive, adherence to the Constitution? Ryan added.
The Uninparty does not believe in the constitution nor limited government; unless you consider turning power over to the UN limiting our government!
That beard on Ryan along with Cruz’s use of Firona to speak for him on his infidelities were the two strangest occurrences among politicians in the last several months.
This from the guy that pushed through an open ended budget that give the dems everything they want.
Do these people even listen to themselves?
Trump will get well over the required number of delegates.
We’re watching history here. Contrary to the voices claiming to be “Conservatives”, truth is the Democrat wing of the party is being purged.
They are hiding behind some sort of moral argument in their attacks on Trump. But, this morals argument is laughable when you consider who is making the attacks.
Instead, the reality is this is about Amnesty, Bigger Government, Crony Capitalism and Power, all of which the so called “Conservatives” support.
I don’t know if Trump intended this, but this has become Us (the voters) versus Them. This is a battle we could very well win.
now that’s just plain funny
Ryan, being a Wisconsin man, is not worthy to be called a cheese-head.
But I do suspect he has cheese for brains, however.
The issue is the America of the Founding Fathers vs. the faux America of cloud dancing neurotic theorists and greedy special interests, combining to force the Clinton/Obama "changes" on us.
You are, of course, correct.
It still amazes me that Cruz was dumb enough to fall for that ruse.
BINGO!
Look, the last people to come to Trump are the ones who are making a market in selling their votes, or selling the US government or selling the republican party. These people need to know that they can keep their business open if Trump is President. So when you see Ryan say things like, I am not backing Trump, what he is really saying is, I can’t support him unless I can keep the republican store open where we sell favors to the highest bidders.
You will see the biggest customers unhappy as well. They have become used to buying favors.

Bookmarked!!!
I have zero belief that Senator Cruz is an idiot, nor a fool.
We are going thru an exorcism of sorts you are saying?
He is still a fart away and maybe if the gop holds the house.
He (Ryan’s opponent for the congress seat) is supposed to be coming up on Varney on Fox Business channel.
No, and they hope you don't remember what they said.
Paul Ryan, LOBBYIST TOOL AND FOOL.
My wife says, Maybe Ryan thinks of himself as Horatius at the bridge. I said, yeah, but he’s really Urkel at the bridge.
Very good point, Mouton.
