Newt Gingrich Rips Paul Ryan for Trump Non-Endorsement
Breitbart ^ | 5/5/16 | Breitbart

Posted on 05/06/2016 6:30:54 AM PDT by Zenjitsuman

“[I]n the case of Paul Ryan he made a big mistake today and he needs to understand this,” Gingrich said. “He is the Speaker of the House. He has an obligation to unify the party. He has an obligation to reach out. Obviously he and Donald Trump are going to have disagreements. Some of them will work out and some of them they won’t. That’s fine. Our constitution provides that speakers and presidents can fight, but I think he sends the wrong signal and a signal which I think endangers the House Republicans and endangers the Senate Republicans.”

I agree with all of that.

But the clintoon dirt machine will fling their fecal barbs remorselessly and the monkey press will eat it up and be on the Donald and Newt both constantly. They will have to fight on 2 fronts. Mitt and Ryan almost pulled it off but the last couple weeks of breathless press hectoring over benghazi and Mitt’s coasting the last couple yards did them in. Especially when the vast majority of swing voters did not know who Ben Ghazi was or what he did exactly.

Trump seems to be able to weather it and give it back as good as he gets. Newt is too gentlemanly. He was hounded out of office mostly by the press and their constant braying. Certainly what he was accused of doing did not rise to the level of resignations...yet he did.

I would rather see a politician veep and Newt in Trump’s earpiece.

>But I also think that endangering certain House and Senate Republicans is a good thing, exemplified by your remark that Cantor needs to be swept out of office.

Bingo! I think eyes are FINALLY opening!

How about Newt as Speaker of the House? That would get legislation passed.

“RyanO is doing what he’s told. Which is what Establishment Gopes do.”

You may be right. Ryan is hearing from the Bush and Romney camps.

“Newt Gingrich for white house chief of staff”

DITTO THAT!!!

As for VP, I’m thinking a female minority candidate but the only one that comes to mind is Condi Rice.

If God's purpose is the destruction of this country, having smug, self-righteous Cruz in the White House wouldn't change anything.

I'm thinking affirmative action is a bad idea. It's bad enough in education but especially bad when it comes to running our country.

We do not need to pander by picking an affirmative action VP

We need someone who will be ready to take over this country in 4 years when Trump’s programs get underway

Condi Rice, a consummate BUSH acolyte, is no executive or military leader and has faded from public view into academia- good luck to her

Ryan should be removed from the speaker’s post immediately.

when did we last have a VP with energy

The best guy for a fireball like Trump would be a guy who goes over to Capital Hill, schmoozes, smooths feathers, twists arms while smiling, and fills in the potholes- with little fanfare or,personal agenda

One who knows all the rules and all the personalities and who stays behind the screen- with unquestioning loyalty

Like Cheney

Let’s keep those postcards flowing... to Paul Ryan (and our local reps and senators)... Every Monday until Ryan and all the others are “ready” to support Trump.

It’s not over until Trump is actually the Republican nominee, not just the “presumptive” nominee. Everyone stay focused, and keep voting Trump in the remaining primaries. Keep focused until February 2017.

Postcards to:

Spkr. Paul Ryan
1233 Longworth HOB
Washington, DC 20515

This is what I’m writing on my postcards:

Support Trump2016
- or we vote DEMOCRAT down-ballot in November!

Appealing to what? Better judgment?

Let's be realistic. Let's live in the real world and not some fantasy land where magical third parties pop into existence and miraculously ride a wave of populist indignation to a sweeping victory.

If a third party is to be viable, it'll have to be built. And not in mere months, with no charismatic leader that can Pied Piper the masses into becoming an insurmountable force.

It is two months to the convention and six months to the general election. Time is short and nursing your wounds for self pity is a waste of time and energy. No one has died, so the bullshyt about "grieving" is self important hogwash.

Every whining GOPe-er and GOPe tool who plays the intractable obstructionist is simply and clearly a dhimmi asset. The Left is enjoying the chaos and finding comfort in it.

The party of rats has hijacked the black vote from the party of Lincoln unopposed by the GOP. As you say, Condi Rice is probably not the right candidate to win back the black vote and some of the female vote from the Rats but the fact remains that we need a Conservative VP that can appeal to those constituencies where Trump has high unfavorables.

Well, I predict that this fact will make the difference in the Ryan/Trump dust off.

The most voters in GOP history are going to put Donald Trump well over the top as the nominee. The most voters to EVER vote for any individual through the GOP Presidential Primary for president.

And they did in a field of 17 candidates.

Think about that.

There is a message being sent loud and clear and Ryan better heed it, or his opponent in his own GOP Primary who is proudly stating he will support Trump, may well upend the new speaker.

well, I’m not sure we will get a pure conservative for a VP but I think we will get someone that the establishment thinks they can trust, who they find reassuring as a known quantity in the role of governing

Someone like Scott Walker for example?
Don’t know anything about his trade policies or other conservative bona fides on social issues, but he seems like a pretty fearless even tempered (ie boring wonk) guy who can handle a hostile bureaucracy and produce results

Except he’s a state governor, not a DC politician and Trump probably doesn’t see the unions as enemies the way Walker did
