You take a timeout from what you are doing to see if that person is okay. If they are okay, you help them to get up.
Then you watch them and talk to them to see if they are okay.

I do feel sorry for the little girls. It must be grueling for them to do all that traveling on a bus and then try to look happy at countless campaign appearances. No wonder they seem grumpy when Ted tries to kiss them.
