According to numerous national media reports, Senator Ted Cruz is moments away from announcing Carly Fiorina as his running mate. The transparency of intent is brutally obvious.
Cruz is desperate; all current indications coming out of Indiana do not look well for his ongoing hail-Mary chances. The Kasich/Cruz deal to split up states in a futile effort to block Donald Trump is backfiring. Ted Cruz authenticity and likability continue to plummet. The more Ted talks, the less people like him. He needs a reset, fast.
Enter Carly Fiorina, the consummate DC cocktail class republican. A failed corporate CEO who was jettisoned from the private sector for her inept and inadequate skills as a company officer never to be hired again by any company. Fiorinas only hope at retention of influence and affluence was a shift to the public sector.

I expect more GOP establishment figures to attack Trump this week to give Cruz a better chance at the Indiana primary.
If Cruz wants to stay in the race he should devote all his efforts to arguing against Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration. There is plenty of ammunition there. Cruz should articulate why Obama has been a disaster and why Clinton would be a disaster.
Cruz should make substantive arguments on the need change policy and clean up Wahington.
Cruz should skip the name calling and work to unite the party.
This isn’t a ‘race’ by any means. He’s eliminated as a contestant in the traditional sense. He is still hanging on but it is no longer a strategy of convincing any voters about anything. It is about demeaning and diminishing Trump while simultaneously emplacing guerillas into the convention that will strike at what should be a victory celebration.
It isn’t a ‘race’ - it’s a Cruzade.
Cruz should go W#$ himself. He has not support that could really help and he’s flipped his lid.
his picking carly while losing terribly again remind me of hitler looking at his grand architectural city mini construct while the war was all but lost.
deluded. and pathetic. Glad hitler suffered regrets.
Ted could have been somebody, maybe SC justice.
now his future is darker an an eclipse.
My point is that Cruz should not do this.
He and Carly Fiorina should spend the rest of the campaign articulating a substantive position against Obama and Clinton.
If his only purpose is to work with the GOP establishment to diminish Trump and create saboteurs for the convention, he should save the time and money and endorse Trump now.
But read the article. It is very interesting and informative.
I think if Cruz had done this back on 1 January....a quarter of all Cruz votes in the primary period would never have occurred....going probably to Rubio instead. Fiorina, as a CEO, was incompetent and I wouldn’t ever vote for her on some ticket.
Understood. But I just don’t think Cruz would do it, even if it was for the good of the country. I think he’s way, way past that point - to obsession.
incompetent is being sloppy.
giving loans to companies who buy your products, then taking the profit, knowing they cant pay you back, then leaving with millions is illegal.
Interesting that you used the Hitler comparison.
Was Cruz picking Carly Fiorina now that the campaign is defeated like Hitler marrying Eva Braun right before Germany was defeated?
“his picking carly while losing terribly again remind me of hitler looking at his grand architectural city mini construct while the war was all but lost.”
Hitler too repeatedly lost the popular elections despite the physical intimidation of the Stormtroopers, so he finally had to rely upon President Paul von Hindenburg to appoint Hitler to the office of the Chancellor. It appears that Ted Cruz is also looking for an intervention by the ruling elite to appoint him to become POTUS through the delegates controlled by the ruling elite.
“I just dont think Cruz would do it, even if it was for the good of the country. I think hes way, way past that point - to obsession.”
I like Cruz. I think he is intelligent and has conservative values.
But the way he has acted in the past few months has made him very difficult to like.
I hope Cruz and Trump can work together.
So what does this say about Ted’s ability to pick cabinet officers? I just shake my head over the pick...there are a fifty finer or better choices you could have made. Scott Walker would have been a major plus-up for his campaign.
I’d hope they could work together, too.
Trump already has more votes than Romney got in 2012 and more votes than McCain got in 2008.
What is Cruz’s message to those voters: go F* yourselves?
It’s difficult to like Cruz these days, he falls way short of conservative expectations. However, I am sorry to see someone who was once respected, self-destruct on the national stage before his family, supporters, and Texas. Ted seemingly has no awareness of how he is being perceived.
Most thought he would not choose Fiorina because she is a terrible choice for many reasons and that her presence would not boost his campaign in the slightest. It makes him appear desperate to have done this. To announce his choice now to try to get more delegates seems so lame, especially when neither one of them is very popular.
One must wonder if Cruz’s belief in his own anointing plays a role with this decision. We suppose that Ted thinks he is carrying out Gods will. Even though he has no path to victory by voting in the final ten states, Cruz somehow believes he emerges victorious. Ted must feel driven to reverse the will of ten million voters and 28 states and 1,000 delegates. He perceives the will of God as him conquering against great odds in a victorious fight to lead the republican party. All the while, ignoring the constitution that will eliminate him for the office of the presidency.
It’s understandable to realize that Ted wants the presidency. However, it is incomprehensible to watch him sabotaging his reputation, public trust, career, and dignity in the process. Something is wrong with his struggle to win. Something is wrong with Ted. He has not behaved like a man of conservative principles, not at all. He has been corrupted by DC and globalist overseers, but kept it hidden.
Ted is a gross disappointment and an embarrassment that marginalizes the conservative wing of the republican party.
Just listened to Carly FioRINO informing us all that 50% of Republicans don’t want Donald Trump to be our nominee. Someone needs to clue her in to the fact that over 70% of Republicans don’t want Ted Cruz to be our nominee. And while we’re at it, over 80% of Republicans have said no thank you to John Kasich.
I agree with you
His Fiorina pick makes one ponder whether she was his first choice.
Did Scott Walker, Rubio and other more logical choices turn Cruz down?
They’d rather not talk about public perception of themselves. This whole delaying campaign is built on withering away Trump support. There’s no more plan, ideals, purpose, integrity.....or shame it seems.
Just blind unstoppable obsession.
When this is over, his wife will leave him.
