Is former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown in the running to be Donald Trump's pick for vice president pick if he gets the Republican nomination?
Brown told WCVB he was in New York with Trump Tuesday night and met with him for about 90 minutes.
I think Webb makes a lot of sense. Trump wants someone who knows Congress, and Webb served a term. Because he served as a Democrat, he has a relationship with people from both sides (the go-along Republicans and the communist Democrats). He has good military credentials, and a conservative foreign policy outlook. And he ran for President in this cycle and keeps his website active (Webb2016.com). Finally, Virginia is going to be in play.
He gave a speech in February on the 5 most important points in foreign policy. I can’t find a copy of that speech. Have you managed to find it?
Lot’s of great choices for him to consider: Maybe Susan Collins? Lincoln Chafee? Olympia Snowe? George Pataki? Or, dare we dream: Mitt Romney? (And yes, I’m being facetious)
Much rather have Sheriff David Clarke, Milwaukee...a very imposing American!
He will get the “pancake” crowd!
And by doing so he lost at least one of his donating supporters...very disappointed!
Trump should pick his oldest daughter : ) She puts Ted’s pick to SHAME......in ALL AREAS.
She would get all the young girls’ votes and males-—they HATE Hillary-—sick of her and that scaggy, creepy old pedophile “husband”.
Cruz should’ve went all in and picked a real horse instead of a shrill bitch that just looks like one.
A Triple Crown winner, not one ready for the glue factory.
family in ohio hates Kasich.
I should.
I am a big fan of making “them” walk the plank... as you know.
But at this point, I would say “ok kasich you are the man...” if I was not convinced they would try to a$$a$inate the _re$9dent and put their kasich-plant in to the ovul orifice. like lbj and kennedy
Jim Webb. The old Jim Webb. “Born Fighting” Jim Webb.
Or Bernie.
Kasich is best selection but would take some serious forgiveness on both sides. Kasich brings Ohio. Nuff said.
Kasich also brings Kasich.
Even with Ohio, that's a bad bargain.
Not Scott Brown. He’s got a little bit of the “ick” factor. He was too fast to compromise once he got to the US Senate. He lost the seat to Warren, who is in contention for VP.
Kasich? Not after The Collusion. He’d probably bring in the mailman vote, but don’t be so sure about OH.
Funny how the article is based on a question instead of a statement, and so many Trump haters decide to act as if it’s set in stone. Bunch of shark-jumping losers which is apropos for those who will follow Cruz into the ground.
In the modern era, a VP pick is assassination insurance. He’s got to pick someone worse for the NWO than he is, to forestall the shadow government from taking a shot at him.
I had not really considered that position and you do have a point. However, Scott Brown, in my estimation does not fit your description of “someone worse for the NWO.” Scott is kind of a Christie like fluid weasel.
just going to toss some thoughts out here for perusal:
- I’m really not sure what Scott Brown brings to the table.
- I doubt Trump is going to view the position as the traditional sinecure that it is. Indications are that he’s going to pick someone who can help him navigate the politics of the Capitol - but there are so few choices in this area who aren’t establishment insiders, so that would be a challenge.
- Another option is to follow in Perot’s footsteps and choose a distinguished military figure as second. It didn’t help Perot, but didn’t hurt him either. On the other hand I can’t see Trump punting on this opportunity. His choice is likely to make a statement.
- He could double down and choose someone similar - perhaps even Ross Perot himself - and reinforce his message that way. Alternately he could double down on the political side and choose someone like Tom Tancredo.
- If he really wants to troll everyone, Rand Paul may be a possibility. He was the first competitor Trump singled out for elimination, so there’s a recognition that he may have been the most formidable opponent if he remained in the race longer.
- While it’s possible he may capitulate and name an establishment second, the legacy of Reagan’s mistake will probably not be lost on him, so I can’t see that happening.
Scott Walker was a squishy, weak campaigner, but looking at how he has handled the Maggots in Madison, I still think he would be a great choice. There is a fire in him.
i agree 100% in what you said. and that’s why it might be RandPaul, who i would be just fine with.
not sure what demographics he would add, but he would be a protection for Trump
i see you already posted that thought.... lol.. i should have kept reading before posting
